Luncheon Every Wednesday NoonWilliam Penn Hotel GrillPittsburgh, Pa.

The annual Dartmouth picnic was held June 24 at the Shadyside Academy where many Dartmouth alumni, their wives, and children gathered to play a little golf and Softball, drink a little beer, and eat a picnic lunch. Those in attendance were: Stew Steffey '41 and son; Nat Parker '26, wife and sons; Fred Garfield '47 and wife; Ed Chinlund '29, wife and daughter; Jim Hooker '43, wife and daughter; Carl Krogh '41 and wife; BillHinkel '33, wife and son; Dr. McKee and Gary '54; Bill Eaton '17; Bus Benner '44; MacCorner '44, wife and son.

Bill Eaton '17 showed some real pepper in the Softball game for the first hour and onehalf and then it was suggested that due to the excessive heat the game should be adjourned before everyone collapsed. Ed Chinlund 29 had a very adequate supply of beer and soft drinks on hand which were greatly apprecited since it was around 95 in the shade.

The Wednesday luncheons have been improving in attendance with the addition of the following members: Rev. Edwin G. (Ted)Bennett '45, who is now minister of St. Matthews Episcopalian Church in Homestead, Pa. The church is building a new rectory and Ted expects to move in by the end of September. Carl Tracy '49 who is employed by Gulf Oil Cos. Fred Garfield '47 who is working for Koppers Cos. in the Commercial Research Department.

Mort Burden '32 is in the process of rehabilitating a garage, stable, and servants' quarters in Edgeworth, Pa., into a very attractive residence.

Ned McLaren '46 who is in the Industrial Relations Department of Koppers Company always favors us with his presence at the luncheons when he is in town which is not very often.

Stew Steffey '41 is now beating off steel buyers in his capacity of Pittsburgh salesman for Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corporation.

Be sure not to forget the Dartmouth PowWow in Detroit, October 6 and 7, and the Wednesday luncheons.
