News of the class dinner in New York on January 17 reached your secretary too late to be included in the notes for the January issue. A full report will be forthcoming next month, since this is being written some time ahead of the event. Fortunately, I expect to be in New York at that time, and will be in attendance; whether my report will be more or less accurate, than when I have to depend on someone else to furnish the details, remains to be seen.

Howie Mullin's nominating committee has been busy since the fall reunion, and it gives me great pleasure to report that nominees for most of the important offices in the Class have consented to serve if elected. Since it is traditional that we have tremendous competition among various candidates for all Class offices, it can be expected that there will be a great amount of electioneering between now and reunion time in June. We can only hope that you will not be swayed by false promises, but will reserve your vote for the man best qualified for the post.

Charlie Gibson, president of B-I Cotton Mills of Greenville, S. C., was recently guest lecturer at the three-week IBM Textile Management School at Clemson College. (Shades of Rog Bury, could this have anything to do with International Business Machines Corp.?) Charlie talked on the advancement of the textile industry in the south.

Kerm Ingham, president of the Ingham Lumber Co. in Stillwater, Okla., is currently serving on the executive committee of the Southwestern Lumbermen's Association, after having been its president in 1949. He has been president of the Stillwater School Board for three terms, and is an elder of the Presbyterian Church, and a past president of the church board.

Charles Downey, who has long been connected with the moving industry, has joined the Anderson and Benson Corp. of Springfield, Mass. Chuck became famous in the medical profession in 1957 when he was one of the first to undergo heart surgery while "frozen." At that time his body temperature was reduced to 87 degrees to permit doctors to cut out an enlarged artery above his heart.

Prof. Reginald French of Amherst College spoke at the annual meeting of the Longmeadow, Mass., Historical Society in November. His subject was "Lambeth Delftware in America." Reg, who is an expert on china collections and early American pewter, has been a consultant to the Du Pont Museum at Wilmington, Del., on its pewter exhibits. He has been at Amherst since 1947, and a full professor since 1949. He was chairman of the Amherst bicentennial observance, and is a member of the Amherst Historical Society.

Curt Wright Jr. was married on December 26 to Mrs. Mary Staples Foulke, in Philadelphia.

Patricia Ann Funkhouser, daughter of Bob and Peg Funkhouser, was married to John Francis Kirby, in Danvers, Mass., on Dec. ?.

Bed Williams is now a contracting officer for the U. S. Air Force at the Philco Corp. in Palo Alto, Calif., and lives at 1893 Edge- wood Drive in Palo Alto.

A letter from Fen Min Tung gives a little of his history since he left Hanover in the spring of 1927. He attended Columbia where he received his M.A. degree in 1928, then received a J.D. degree from Northwestern in 1930. He then spent a year in England, mainly at the University of London, and another year at the Sorbonne in Paris. Following this, he was a judge in the International Settlement in Shanghai for over ten years, except for the interval under Japanese occupation. He is now teaching in Hong Kong, and would be delighted to see any classmates who might be in that city. I will be glad to supply his address to any of you who might be going to Hong Kong.

Another reminder that our 35th Reunion will take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11 through 13. This may seem like a long time away, but the months have a habit of sliding by, faster each year, it seems, and June will be here before we know it.
