Due to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE'S being occupied this month with the Alumni Fund Report, Charlie Widmayer has asked that class notes be kept short. I'll skip any lousy puns, therefore, and get down to the available news immediately.

Mort Smith opened the new year with the announcement of his engagement to Nancy Alice Frost of Pelham Manor, N. Y., a senior at Colby Junior. Mort is in the insurance business. Another engagement very recently announced is that of Audie Knight and Nancy Keiver of Swamscott, Mass. Nancy attended Skidmore. S'am Katz is the groom tobe of Betsy Jane Cohan of Chestnut Hill, Mass. She is a student at Sarah Lawrence College, while Sam is in his second year at Dartmouth Med.

Harlow Munson has just become engaged to Joan Williams Hodgdon of Westwood, Mass. She is a member of the Junior League, graduated from Lasell Junior College, and is now finishing her last year at Boston University. Munee is studying at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Medford, Mass. Just before Christmas, Bob "Pete" Norton became the husband-to-be of Myra Teresa Fitz Maurice of Orange and Spring Lake, N. J. Nort's fiancee graduated last June from Marymount College. Pete is with the Anchor Hocking Glass Company in New York. Big Don Drescher became engaged on New Year's Day to Joan Van Dale of, we believe, Asbury Park, N. J. We know nothing about Don's fiancee, but he is a rising executive with Sears Roebuck, and seems to be plenty busy. He holds down three jobs in the Asbury Park store: manager of the television department, assistant manager of building materials, and training supervisor.

On Saturday morning, December 31, DonBriggs married Miss Joan Loretta Morgan of Rochester, N. Y. The couple spent their honeymoon in Canada, and now reside in East Rochester. Joan is a Registered Nurse, having graduated from the Rochester Genesee Hospital School of Nursing. The best man at the wedding was Don's '4B classmate and fraternity brother, Art Schoen, of Schenectady.

Needless to say, I think I can speak for the class in wishing you engaged and married couples the utmost of happiness and prosperity. Congratulations and good wishes to you all.

And congratulations also go to Barney andBarbara Hoisington, for on January 5 they became the proud parents of Harland Steven. This family of three now lives in New York City where Barney is in a brokerage office.

Bob Herrick and his wife, Jimmy, are living in Niles, Michigan, where Bob is in the canning business. They are only ten miles from South Bend, and thus saw all Notre Dame's home games this fall, but Bob says he'd rather travel 150 miles to Ann Arbor next fall to see one Dartmouth game. He expects to see a lot of '4Bs there for the Michigan game, all putting in their support toward a Big Green victory. I think you'll see plenty out there all right, Bob, and I regret not being able to be among them.

That about fills the allotment of space for this month, so I'll close here. See you in thirty days.
