Dartmouth turned out en masse, Wednesday evening, March 29, at the University Club, for the Annual Meeting of the Alumni Association of the Great Divide. The meeting was the most varied and one of the most interesting in the memory of your scribe.

In reporting the proceedings it seems best to do so chronologically. From the standpoint of attendance, this was the largest Dartmouth gathering in the history of the Association. Attendance was increased by the presence of a number of undergraduates home for spring vacation, most of whom had their Dads in tow. It should be noted, however, that a general exodus of undergraduates occurred when it came time for them to call for their dates, they being understandingly unwilling to completely sacrifice one of their too few evenings at home.

Outgoing President Bill Grant '31 presided brilliantly. His witty and poignant remarks almost caused the railroading to go unnoticed. This attempt at giving the business part of the meeting a democratic flavor was materially aided by the perennial Chairman of the Nominating Committee, Bob More '13, who gave his report in his usual unusual way. With his tongue so far in his cheek he could scarcely be understood, Bob reported that the Nominating Committee threw out the slate offered by the incumbent administration, and by means of the confidence thus gained, the report of Bob's Committee was accepted unanimously.

Officers for the coming year are: NorrieWilliamson '26, President; Wynne Matteson '03, Vice-President; Harry Litzenberger '32, Secretary; Niel Roberts '35, Treasurer; and Ed Brunhoff '46, Assistant Secretary. The following were elected Trustees of the Association: Jim Barr '42, Bob Kohn '30 and MasonLewis '10.

Largely through the efforts of the aforementioned Niel Roberts and Dudley Smith '25, members of the Association dug down in their pockets and came up with funds to bring the Dartmouth Ski Team to Colorado for the National Intercollegiate Meet at Arapahoe Basin and Dillon, on March 31, and April 1 and 2. The six-man team headed by Captain Tor Arneberg were guests of the Association and were cleverly introduced by Coach Walter Prager.

The Secretary of the College, Sid Hayward '26, was the honored guest, and his informal talk about the College was warmly received by the news-thristy alumni. Sid's talk was interrupted in order to hear a re-broadcast of an interview which had taken place in the morning at his hotel room. Bill Grant and Dave Main '06 were also in on the broadcast. All agreed the Dartmouth men acquitted themselves much better than their interviewer, and a good laugh resulted from the corny commercial, right in the middle of the program.

The final item of the evening was the showing of the film, Dartmouth Outdoors, which received enthusiastic response.

I would be remiss in my reporting, if I failed to mention two sour notes at the meeting, namely, cheering and singing. Dr. JohnNelson '31 did a solo cheer, and Jerry Wood'24 made a valiant effort at the piano. The lack of cooperation was the fault of not having the singing and cheering organized. President Williamson take note for next year.
