The annual gathering of '89 men at Commencement time brought to Hanover last June Moulton, Frost, Ferguson, Davis, Chase and Bartlett. Also in the class group were Mrs. Edwin B. Davis, Mrs. Harry M. Frost, Mrs. Burt H. Redfield and Ferguson's son-in-law, Orin F. Perry Jr. Class President Ferguson was host at a dinner for the group held at the Inn the evening of June 16. A group photograph was taken, featuring in it '89's Class Pipe, which later was deposited in the College archives, and letters were signed by members present and mailed to each living absent member.
Mrs. David N. Blakely, now living at 1070 Beacon St., Brookline, Mass., accompanied by Miss Bertha Blakely, David's sister, spent July at Seaward Inn in the quaint North Shore seaport town of Rockport, Mass.
Mrs. Benjamin F. Ellis and family went to Colorado, as they did last year, for an early summer holiday. While there they took long tramps in the mountains and photographed in color many choice bits of mountain scenery. Upon their return home, Miss Louise W. Ellis of Concord, N. H., elderly sister of our late classmate, made them a much-enjoyed visit.
Mrs. Nathaniel K. Noye.s of Plymouth, Mass., still lives in the house Nat built at 17 Brewster Street. She keeps in touch with our Class through her subscription to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. In nearby Duxbury live Nat's son, Edwin M. Noyes 'l6, and his wife, whom she often sees. Their daughter Ann has two more years in college and their son Peter is due to graduate next June from the Duxbury High School.
Miss Martha Flagg Emerson was in Ithaca, N. Y., during the summer visiting her sister, Mrs. Edmund E. Day.
Mrs. George Hiram Hitchcock of Terrace Park, 0., writes that her grandson by that name, a sophomore at Dartmouth, was employed during the summer in the laboratory of the Carey Company in Cincinnati, with which his father has long been associated.
A dinner was held at the Brook and BridleClub in Wolfeboro, N. H., on July 6 to celebrate Harry Frost's 85th birthday. Membersof the family gathered for the occasion included Mrs. Frost, his daughter Doris (Mrs.Walter S. Gay of Oak Park, Ill.) and herdaughter Janice. The Frosts were, as usual, attheir summer home on Crystal Lake in Gilmanton, N. H.
Mrs. Burt Redfield spent the summer ather camp in the Passaconaway Valley regionof New Hampshire; "E. B." and Mrs. Davisfound their relaxation in the classic atmosphere of Hanover; Arthur Chase was at hiscottage in Branford, Conn.; George Bard inBirmingham, Ala., braved the terrific heatthat region experienced a large part of thesummer, and Hardy Ferguson hired a cottagedown by the shore near his home at CapeElizabeth, Me., to give his children, hisgrandchildren, and his great grandchildrenall the enjoyment to be had during the summer in living close to the ocean on the Mainecoast.
