Shoes off, cigarette smoke gently wafting into my eyes no matter where I place the ash tray, and into another October's column we plunge. Marking the beginning of a new publishing year, we really ought to take stock of the matters concerning the class as a whole. The Alumni Fund this year saw us in the unique position of gaining six more contributors and 27% more money than last year and retain identical scores. Actually, one might say that we gained some ground but the participation index is the most important feature and that should have made more than the 3% gain that it did. It points to a real goal that we should be thinking about even now. Certainly no one expects to see next year's Alumni Fund goal lower than this year's. Starting out with the June brides and their husbands, Miss Beth Jean Hummel of Houston, Tex., took our Len Robinson as her lawful wedded husband in that city on June 17. After a wedding trip to Mexico they are residing at 1712½ Dunlavy, Houston.

Bob Cormack and Miss Mary E. Corkum were wed June 24 in Springfield, Mass. Bob has been called back to active duty with the Navy.

On August 4, Miss Nancy H. Richmond and Hank Mueller were married in Garden City, L. I. Among the wedding party was ex-Green footballer, Joe Dey.

Weddings on tap: Miss Jean Elizabeth Wallace of Orono, Me., and John Cameron are/ were to be married in September. John, after post-grad work in botany, is now assistant personnel manager for the Oscar Mayer Corp. in Chicago.

Planning an October wedding are Miss Claire Margaret Murrin and Harold Shea. Miss Murrin presently resides in Dorchester, Mass.

Bob Russell (Robert P.) and Miss Tanis Krueger of Palm Beach, Fla., are engaged with no date set. Bob is working at the Radiation Research Corporation in West Palm Beach.

Ed Nadeau was called back into active duty with the Marines in June.

Roy Anderson received his Ph.D. in Physics at Duke in June.

A Fulbright Scholarship went to Pete Jowise for study of physics at the University of Vienna during the present school year.

Jim Punderson, as vice-president of the Hampden County (Mass.) Accident Prevention Council, warned drivers against ignoring traffic signs according to an article in the Springfield (Mass.) Republican August 5.

During the months of June, July and August, guests at the Inn included Mr. and Mrs.Lloyd Krumm, Mai Hill, Bud Thome, EdOuellet and Mr. and Mrs. Walt Palmunen.

Besides his wedding on July 28, Bob Russell has taken on another big job this year. Specifically, Bob is taking over the position of Class Agent for our class and from his showing in the local Red Cross drive and other functions of that nature around his natural habitat, we expect some big things to happen in the 1952 Little Green Derby. Bob is Secretary-Treasurer of the F. L. Russell Co. of Saugerties, N. Y. We'll dig up his address for you as soon as possible.

See you next month!
