Recent high temps have got me Spring fevering already and it's awfully hard to get it started this month. Recent bout with that universal ghoul, the flu, doesn't supercharge one with ambition, either. Chiefly, I can say that I got several letters this last month and when I get them out to re-examine and write the column, I get so interested in them, I find myself all tied up in what they have to say. Meanwhile, the column isn't getting written and my wife, who wants to go for a ride on this beautifully sunshiny day, glares at me.

Two letters tell, belatedly, of weddings long since altared. The first letter comes from JackMahoney's mother and tells that Jack, a medical student at Tufts, was married to Miss Marilyn Sullivan of Connecticut College. Attending Jack were Phil Johnson and Sam Wilkinson. The ceremonies took place last September 23 and the couple is now living at 51 Newman Road, Maiden, Mass. In passing we'd certainly like to thank Mrs. Mahoney Sr. and go on record as saying that if any other mothers of class members get a "big bang" out of these monthly pretexts of the written word, we'd certainly like to hear from you, too, about your son.

John Hatheway writes from the Borough Beautiful (Brooklyn) that Dave Kurr married Miss Joyce Boardman on October 7. John, Dick Banfield '49 and Bill Boardman '49 were ushers at the wedding which was held at Ardmore, Pa. Dave and his wife are now living in Baltimore where he is a sales representative with Reynolds Metals. Joyce, who formerly attended Middlebury, is finishing up this year at Goucher in Baltimore.

A more recent wedding was that of WarrenKent and Miss Phyllis Baruch on February 11, also in Ardmore, Pa. Grant Tinker '47 was best man. The bride attended Pine Manor Junior College, Wellesley, Mass.

February 17 was the date set for the wedding of Jack Leisure and Miss Shirley Madison Hastings, both of Harrisburg, Pa. Jack was with us for a year and then went to the Naval Academy in 1945. Graduating in 1949, he is now with the General Tire and Rubber Cos., in Harrisburg. Mrs. Leisure graduated from Vassar and spent a year on the faculty there in the plant science department.

A JL In the engagement department we find that Dwight Burley has become engaged to Miss Ida Lee Rentz. He is a junior in Temple Med School and she is a medical technician with degrees from Florida State University and Jackson Hospital, Miami.

Those fortunate enough to call the Inn home for a day or two during February included Don and Joan Drescher, Jerry Copieston and Pete Page. Other class members were apparently "up for Carnival" including BobTracy, John Hatheway, Al McAllister, to mention a few.

Speaking of Carnival, apparently it was a critical proposition from the weather point of view as late as Wednesday. Johnny Fenno wrote that heavy snow and sharply falling temps Wednesday evening saved the day and caused the snow to adhere to the trees in such a manner that Hanover was a photographer's delight all weekend. Carnival Weekend and all the events that transpired were held in subzero weather.

Back here in the Midwest, I had an opportunity to get in touch with some Chicagoans during February and find that Jean and KenSaunders have moved to 1445 Campbell Ave., Des Plaines, Ill. They are expecting in June. Ken is still with Continental Casualty's special risks department where he underwrites a variety of special policies. Sounded very interesting as we discussed it over lunch.

Chatted with Tom Davis briefly over the phone and learned that he and Sally are in an apartment in Oak Park at 210 N. Oak Park Ave. They honeymooned in Jamaica, incidentall but he is now back in the Foreign Dept. of the First National of Chicago trying to aggravate the dollar shortage.

Also talked to News-editor Don Ryan who is with his father as a grain broker on the Board of Trade in the Windy City.

Rod Susen was caught at his desk and noted that the Fund campaign has its kickoff this month and he is working hard to get it into high gear. As class agent, he has a mammoth job trying to work a fin or sawbuck out of you guys. Just think how easy you could make it by giving in on the first round.

In Johnny Hatheway's letter he noted that he is working in the Market Research Dept. of Young & Rubicam in New York. He shares an apartment with Dick Bandfield '49 in Brooklyn at 18 Schermerhorn St. What's more, he claims to be enjoying life.

There is one thing, among many others, that this column definitely lacks and that is pictures. How about those pictures of the proud parents and the bewildering offsprings? Somebody in the class must own a camera. Let's get some visual representation from you guys and gals as well as a letter once in a while. And remember that the College needs every dime you can spare it now!
