Since today is one of the hottest ever registered in this area for the month of October, your damp correspondent finds it rather difficult to project just one month hence when the cold winds will probably be blowing with great gusto and those classmates who happen to be in Hanover will probably be bracing themselves against it as they trudge across the Common.

On a recent trip into the Eastern end of the country, the wife and I had the good fortune to run into Bob Russell and his charm- ing new wife Barbara at a wedding in his home town of Saugerties, N. Y.

Nextly, I picked up a paper in Boston and read of Al McAllister's wedding in Manchester, N. H„ on September 8. The bride is the ex-Miss Lois Patricia Bruce of that city. WaltCairns and Bill Ivins served as ushers. She attended Bradford Junior College and TobeCoburn. They will live in Hartford where Al is presently employed.

When we hit Philadelphia, I checked in with Boz Kirkpatrick who is now in his last year of medical school at Temple. We got together for a few quick ones and caught up on gossip since the last time. He is looking for a good deal as an interne some where next year. Anyone w7ho knows of a good spot would be gladly heard from.

Dick Russell and Miss Tanis Krueger were married in New York August 9. Mrs. Russell attended Vassar and studied in France. Dick is with "Radiation Research Corp.. Palm Beach, Fla. They are living there after a wedding trip to South America.

On July 21 in Griffin, Ga„ Charlie Major, presently a Lt. j.g. in Uncle Sam's Navy and Miss Mary Henderson tied the knot. At the time the clipping I have was written, Charlie was communications officer on the U. S. S.Abbot. He was expecting an assignment to Boston for further study. Mrs. Major is a graduate of both North Georgia College and the University of Tennessee.

Walt Palmunen and Miss Nathalie Beatrice Johnson were married in Barnstable, Mass., on August 18. She holds degrees from Boston University, College of Physical Education for Women and Sargent College. Walt is working at the National Shawmut Bank. They now reside at 230 Walnut Street, Newtonville.

Roger Jackson and Miss Rosemary Ellen Riley were to be married on September 15 in Waterbury, Conn., according to my sources of information. She graduated from Edgewood Park Junior College.

On September 15, Phil Johnson and Miss Carol Edna Bonsai were wed in Upper Montclair, N. J. Jack Mahoney and Howie Farrant '45 were ushers. Mrs. Johnson is an alumna of Wellesley. Phil graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and is presently interning at Bellevue.

In the mail the other day I received an announcement of the arrival of James Coleman Davis, son of Tom and Sally Davis, on September 11.

We also hear that Dick Lootnis received his M.A. from Brown in Mathematics in 1950. He is living at 48 Lauriston St., Providence, R. I., and is with the Rhode Island Hospital Trust Cos. in Providence.

Since Johnny Fenno is now connected with the same company as myself, I have passed over the news of his resigning his post with the ALUMNI MAGAZINE and moving to Terre Haute, Ind., in July. He and Grace have the whole upstairs of a rather sizable house there and he claims that he is really working for a change. Their son Chris, now 15 months old, is of the bouncing variety so that Grace is seriously considering the installation of some kind of a mechanical hoist for picking him up.

You fellows probably noticed the frequency with which you received the class newsletters through the summer months. Don Ryan deserves a real pat on the back for the fine work he is doing with the newsletter. I'd like to suggest that all you people who don't write to me (99.75% of the class) should write to him instead. That way we'll be sure to get some news circulating.

My clippings have run out for this month so I'll have to sign off for now.
