I have just completed a survey of how other notes editors start their columns and have concluded that, for the most part, they have as much trouble breaking the ice as I do. Once in a while someone becomes inspired and busts forth with an eye-catching lead paragraph but it boils down to a general variation on the old theme, "Well, here we are again ... and since we are, either (1) There isn't much to say because you guys are too tight to write, or (2) The clippings are heavy this month, let's go."
Leading the parade to the altar this month were Kim Swezey and Miss Nancy Hunt who tied the knot in Wellesley, Mass. on December 29. Pierce Udall and Punchy Thomas, both 'sos, assisted. After a two-weeks' honey- moon in the Virgin Islands they are now settled in East Patchogue, N. Y.
Don Pendas married Miss Phyllis Ann Meili in Scarsdale, N. Y., January 18. They honeymooned in Woodstock, Vt., and are now residing in New York. Mrs. Pendas is a graduate of Bennington. Don is with Consolidated Edison in Gotham.
Bill Ivins, who has scored many an assist of late, is apparently getting ready for top billing himself with the announcement of his engagement to Miss Elizabeth Williams of Needham, Mass. His fiancee is a graduate of Skidmore, and equipped with an additional certificate in physical therapy from Simmons College, is working at the Children's Hospital. Bill is currently engrossed at Harvard Medical School.
Received a nice note from Jack Tracy by way of a correction on his address. Jack is barristing in Portsmouth, N. H., now (a location that we always held in considerable awe when we were working for Uncle Sam's Navy) and explains that the falacious New York address previously reported was only for the month of July, 1951, while recuperating from the rigors of receiving his LL.B. from Harvard in June. Apparently the address caught the fancy of all mailing lists and everything now arrives via N. Y. Therefore, whereas Jack Tracy has been in New Hampshire since August, and whereas he desires that those addressing him do so in a more straightforward manner, therefore, be it resolved that he shall be addressed c/o Waldron, Boynton and Waldron, 48 Pleasant Street, Portsmouth, N. H.
The latest poop from Hanover states that Carnival is less than a week off, thus bringing back fond memories galore. The drizzle and bare ground outside are hardly conducive to a carnival atmosphere but we hope we can recapture some of it by getting a chance to see a new color movie of some 45 minutes' duration featuring our ColinStewart, Andrea Mead (Time Cover) Lawrence and other skiing stalwarts. This film was produced by Bob Bull '45 and Don Hyatt '49, who is now an NBC TV producer.
Bob Reynolds, now a private in Uncle Sam's Army, is reported to be headed for the 101st Airborne Division.
Latest gossip around the Dartmouth Club in New York is that Tom Campbell, a lodger there, is now partaking of a forced vacation from a broken leg after a bad fall.
Class Agent and Mrs. Bob Russell were duly registered at the Inn for a weekend during January. Pete Page spent the last weekend of last year there.

Late flash: just received a bulletin stating that perennial bachelor Boz Kirkpatrick, erst- while medic, has done it. This means that he forfeits a couple of bottles of Scotch, so we know that it must be true love. The ceremony took place in Philadelphia, January 18. The new bride, nee Miss Nancy Elizabeth Mowry, and her groom can be reached at Philadelphia SA-2-7381. That's all the info we've got to date. We will let you know further details as soon as they are available. That'll be next month and it looks like we are done for this one except for some warmed over address changes we didn't have room for last month.
