SAVE OCTOBER 19
At 7:30 P.M. on October 19 your association will gather to celebrate Dartmouth Night in grand and glorious style in the Tap Room of Gluek's Brewery in Minneapolis. Fortunately for us this is not the night before the opening of either duck or pheasant season, so all you hunters plan to attend.
Eddie Lynch, Dave Warner, and Dave Leslie are the major domos, in charge of arrangements. We understand they are planning songs, a boundless supply of liquid refreshments, a Dutch lunch, Fred Gamble at the piano, and a special message from Hanover. Mark that date down on your calendar now. Let's make this the biggest Dartmouth Night in the association's history.
At the time this is written, our association's fall program is scheduled to start off with a bang with a luncheon .September 10 to fete our delegation of boys to the Class of '55. It is to be held at the Hotel Dyckman with Vinnie Else in charge of arrangements.
Our second annual fall co-ed picnic is scheduled to be held September 16 at GeorgeHoke's place at Gleason Lake. Clark MacGregor is in charge of arrangements and has as his able assistants, Whit Miller, Fred Gamble, Bobb Chaney, Jack Beatty and JuddMulally. Jack has promised to bring one of the latest Toro mowers to insure that the picnic is held on a velvet carpet manicured to the proper length.
Elmer Lampey and his brother Art of the Hiawatha Press have kindly consented to print up a new directory for our association. A committee is working hard on this now. If anyone wishes to have his name added or an address changed or knows of any other corrections or changes, please drop a card or note to your secretary. We can't check the addresses of those persons living outside the Twin Cities area very well, so we especially request cooperation from all members of the association living away from the Twin Cities. If you have a correction, make it now!
This year we are sending a grand group of boys down to Hanover, but most of them are from the Twin Cities. Some of us think that is because we don't bring the news of the College to the high schools throughout the area. We own two good films about the College which, from our experience here, would be welcome at every high school. These are available to our entire association and if any member wishes to have film shown at a school in his vicinity, please write your secretary to make the necessary arrangements. We have the films—let's use them!
Lyman Wakefield tells me that he has received payment for '51-'52 association dues from some members even before they were asked for it. It takes cold hard cash to keep the association going, so send in those dues to Lyman now.
