Syracuse Upset
November 1951

On the Saturday following its Army victory the Big Green eleven upset Syracuse, 14 to 0, in Hanover. Dick Jennison, sophomore fullback from Dover, N. H., scored both touchdowns, the first on a one-yard plunge in the third period and the other on a 44-yard burst through left tackle in the final period.

Aside from these two scoring events, the game offered little in the way of offensive fireworks and was highlighted mostly by defensive play. Syracuse, favored on the strength of its previous record, was handicapped by the loss of its two top quarterbacks. Jim Miller again directed the Big Green and comleted seven of 13 passes.
