Joe Bartlett has a new business address. The law firm of Ely, Bartlett, Thompson & Brown of which he is a partner has moved its offices to the eighth floor of the Old South Building, 294, Washington Street, Boston, Mass.
Jack Spring, after serving 26 years, 25 years of which as Chairman of the New Hampshire Tax Commission, resigned his position on December 1. The Nashua paper said:
"Judge John R. Spring, chairman of the New Hampshire Tax Commission, one of the best known officials in the tax field in the United States today, resigned his post because of ill health. Mr. Spring's resignation, submitted some days ago, was officially brought before the New Hampshire Supreme Court at a meeting of the members today in Concord. Members of the Tax Commission are appointed by this court. It was accepted to take effect on December 1.
"He is a nationally known figure on tax matters and is a trustee of the Federation of Tax Administrators, a director of the National Tax Association, a director of the National Association of Tax Administrators. As a member of the National Association of Tax Administrators he was to have delivered the main address at the June meeting at Mackinac Island in Michigan, when stricken ill.
"Mr. Spring has been a practicing lawyer in Nashua for many years, and upon his retirement from his state post will devote his full time to his law work in this city.
"He had been a member of the Commission for 25 of its 41 years."
