Since we dashed off last month's copy, our Treasurer, George Anderson, has sent out his bills for Class dues. As he explained on the accompanying memorandum, we are having a tough time making ends meet on the current dues of $4 per man. A goodly number of classes have already given up the struggle and raised their dues. Your officers are opposed to this step, at least for the time being. We believe we can continue to get by if we collect the going rate of four bucks from enough men. If we had a ratio of participation equal to that which we enjoy on the Alumni Fund, we would do very nicely. Your dues include a year's subscription to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, so how can you lose? Get your check off to George today, and help us keep solvent at our present low rates.

Ken Harvey wrote us a few days ago, reporting that he was slowly on the mend. Ken has been in Florida for some time now, fighting courageously to recover from a seige of serious illness. It is wonderful to know that he is making progress. At this time of year, with football in the air, Ken says he gets a touch of nostalgia for Hanover and the North Country. We think he would be delighted to hear from any of his friends, for as he points out, there aren't too many Dartmouths in his vicinity. Ken's address is 1659 Ridgewood Street, Clearwater, Fla. If any of you lads are fortunate enough to get down that way this winter, drop in and see him. He will be glad to see you.

Our traveler extraordinary, C. EdwardJones, wrote us not long ago from Jefferson, N. H., where he had been spending the summer teaching tennis at a swanky resort hotel. Keeping Ed's address current is a full time job, for this boy circulates between his hacienda in Mexico, a cattle ranch in Arizona, a home in Palm Springs, Calif., and what appears to be his more permanent abode in Pompano Beach, Fla. The word "permanent" is used very loosely, for he is forever on the move. Someone of these fine days, Ed's restless feet are going to get a bit tired of moving around so much, and then perhaps we can catch up with him. More power to you, Ed, and happy hunting.

We wish to call attention to the fact that the In Memoriam article about Tom Burbank in the October issue appeared without a 1924 heading and therefore seemed to be one of the 1923 write-ups. Friends of Tom may want to refer back to Page 92 of the October issue, if they missed it.

It is not often that we are privileged to receive a letter from a '24 gal, but the very rarity of such an event lends an added thrill when it does occur. The other day a letter arrived, not from Harry Harris, but from Alice Harris, who took over the letter writing in his behalf. Harry is in the life insurance business, and as a refugee from the east, has found the opportunities in California to his liking. Apparently everything in California is to his liking, for Alice writes, "Harry has fallen hard for Southern California. He enjoys life here—fishing, hunting, and camping all the year round—the desert places in winter and anywhere else the rest of the year. There is a swell Dartmouth bunch out here with Leon Rothschild always the power behind the throne." With that sort of a set-up, who wouldn't like it? Alice goes on to tell us that their daughter, 17, will enter college next year. Anyone flying out that way can reach Harry at 609 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles 17, Calif. Orchids to Alice for her cordial letter.

Odds and Ends from Here and There: During the Fall House Party at Lyme Inn, Marthaand Stan Lonsdale sent a telegram expressing their regrets at not being among those present. The telegram had a typical Lonsdale twist. It read, "Having lousy time. Wish we were there. Best to all."— Barbara and StanChittick, returning from a trip West, report meeting Jim and Gladys Rutherford at the Chicago airport. The Rutherfords were on their way to Colorado for three weeks of hunting in the Rockies—John H. (Dan)Daniell represented the College at the recent inauguration of a new President at the University of Mexico, in Mexico City. Dan is our only resident classmate below the Rio Grande, but no more earnest or enthusiastic representative could we have.—George Anderson has written in to tell us that this year's first prize of a 1924 Model Raccoon coat, complete with buttons, is awarded to Ockie Hecht for being the first member of the Class to pay his dues. George says that Ockie must have mailed his check in the same motion he used in opening his maill Go thou, and do thou likewise!—A meeting was held in New York not long ago, for interviewing committee chairmen and men engaged in Dartmouth's enrollment program. It was a real pleasure to see four members of our Class in attendance. Peanuts Eaton, Frank Granata and GeorgeTraver all head up interviewing committees, -while your secretary is beating some of the North Jersey bush for some likely candidates for admission.—Some kind soul recently sent us a copy of The New York Sales ExecutiveWeekly reporting a presentation by Sumner J.Robinson, General Sales Manager of the Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Co., Inc. Robbie really laid 'em in the aisles. Using a high-powered technique that sounded like a combination of an old fashioned revival meeting and a fast moving floor show, Robbie drove home his points with showmanship, good humor and good sense. It is apparent that Robbie enjoys the respect and admiration of his fellow executives, not only as a dynamic speaker, but as an able sales administrator. Our congratulations.—Our Scouts report that George Anderson's oldest son Bill is playing in the back- field on the Army Plebes defensive platoon. How do these football players get away? We'll never know.

Well, that seems to wind things up for the time being. If you have any funds available after buying toys for Junior you might bear in mind that we could use a little dough for our Memorial Book Fund. $20 will buy a book in memory of some Classmate, and any gift is welcome, large or small. That's a nice spot for Christmas giving, don't you think?

And speaking of Christmas, Lou joins me in extending to every one of you our very best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Peaceful New Year. A merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night.
