Millicent Warnock Richardson, wife of the secretary, died on December 11, 1950, at the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover. She was born in Roxbury, Mass., on January 14, 1883, and spent her early life there until her marriage in 1906. For the last 44 years she had been a resident of Hanover Her principal interest was her home, of which she was the animating force, but she participated fully in the affairs of the community, particularly in the earlier years in its musical interests as the possessor of a fine contralto voice. She had been ill for over two years, but at the fiftieth reunion last June her strength was adequate to allow her to take an active
part in all the various festivities which, as in previous class gatherings, she much enjoyed. She is survived by her husband, by three sons, Robert C. '28, of Baltimore, Md., Edward L. '29, of Marblehead, Mass., and Stuart '37, of Freeport, Me., by one grandson and by a sister, Mrs. John McDermott, of Cambridge Mass.
Owing to the illness and recent death of his wife the secretary did not find it possible this year to prepare a holiday letter to the class, as has been his custom in recent years. The greetings which could not be sent at that time may receive this belated expression.
Pete and Mrs. Fletcher, finding Groton, Vt., to have its climatic disadvantages in the winter, are spending the cold season in Titusville, Fla., and Charles Proctor and wife are making their usual stay at Clearwater.
We have seldom heard from the family of the late Julius Dutton, but recently a letter was received from his son John, a graduate of Syracuse University, and now living in Elmira, N. Y., where he is in the automobile business. He has two children. His sister, Ruth Frances, is married to Lieutenant Colonel Herbert N. Reed, of the United States Army, now stationed at Fort Eustis, Va. A daughter Janice was born to them in October 1950.
Harry Marshall finds that strenuous work does not appeal to him these days. Mrs. Marshall had a serious operation in August but is now much improved. She published her second book in November, a biographical sketch of Queen Esther, which was well received. His granddaughter entered Colorado Women's College this year and his foster daughter, who attended the reunion, was married in August to a Brown graduate who is Assistant City Engineer at Miami Beach.
Harold Hastings is now to be reached at Mansfield Center, Conn., Route 2.
