On my way to Florida for a "well-earned" winter vacation I stopped overnight with our '87 Class President "Dan" Hadlock. He has a spacious home on high cliffs at the border of Scarsdale, N. Y., a location that is convenient for suburban travel by railroad trains or over a new high-speed parkway. One son, Albert E., has been living at home with Dan, but is being called in March back to service as a Major in the department of Engineering and Purchases at Rochester, N.Y.

The day following my overnight visit Dan invited a Yale friend of mine and myself to a luncheon at the Lawyers' Club, 115 Broadway, where Dan has served for many years as Secretary and been a host to visiting Dartmouth classmates. My Yale friend was delegated to see that I got safely aboard the Florida Special, where I had reserved a sleeping bunk. We missed the gate by a minute. My Yale friend was so apologetic for his sin that I forgot to curse him. Yale and Dartmouth Grade are good friends even when one side loses.
