This is probably the last column you will receive before we meet in Hanover for our June Reunion (June 22, 23, 24). I just want to take a moment to talk about the serious side of our reunion. We have a lot of business to transact. Do you realize it is eight years since we have had an election of officers? Do you realize it is at least that long since we have had an official class meeting? When you stop to think about it, it is amazing that we have been able to preserve even a small amount of class solidarity. And it seems almost impossible that we have run up our long string of victories in the Little Green Derby. But all this is true and we now have the pleasant job of meeting at reunion time to strengthen the basis of our class operation and to lay our plans for the next four years.
One of our most important jobs will be to select and elect the 11-man executive board with whom we will entrust the planning for and the operation of our class business until our 10th reunion in 1955. Accordingly the following Nominating Committee has been chosen to present a slate of nominees at our business meeting: Rodney A. Walser, 457 Hansberry St», Philadelphia 44, Pa., Chairman; Donald DeB. Campbell, Box 254, Branchville, N. J.; and Arthur B. Jopson Jr., 1717 Sansom St., Philadelphia, Pa. The addresses of these men have been given so that you can write your suggestions to them. X am sure they will appreciate hearing your wishes. In addition, at the time of the election in our business meeting nominations may be made from the floor.
All of you have received a mailing from SamCutler and his Reunion Committee. They certainly have a full schedule outlined for us. And I know you were interested in seeing that the tariff is set at about $15.00. If you don't have reunion fever now it isn't because of your committee. One further word: it will help very much if you will let Sam know whether or not you will attend just as soon as you know definitely. There are a score of details which can be arranged only after the committee knows how many to plan for. So, we will see you in June, in Hanover.
Another bit of business which we must be careful not to overlook or slight this reunion year is the Alumni Fund Drive which DonCampbell, Bill McKenzie and all the Assistant Class Agents have already begun to organize. We can expect very tough competition from our rival classes this year since they are very jealous of our enviable position. Let us not let down this year. Let us prove to one and all that the Dartmouth spirit and the spirit of '945 are steadily growing in the hearts of all of us.
I hope you are still with me. From here on the reading will be more entertaining.
