Seems appropriate to pause a moment to congratulate ourselves for winning the Little Green Derby again. And it is also appropriate that we all salute Nick Sandoe and all of his many assistants for the wonderful job they all did.

Now, already, our new Class Agent, Don deB. Campbell, is planning his strategy which will carry us to the top for the 1950 Fund Campaign. Let us all pledge our support to Don and his cohorts.

Even X was scooped on the announcement concerning our new Newsletter Editor. BillMcKenzie accepted the job and then turned around and got married. What you didn't read last month about Bill and wife, Catherine, is that they honeymooned in Bermuda.

Professor Foley and Rog Brown were college representatives at the March meeting of Central New York Alumni. Rog did an admirable job of providing the serious side of the evening's entertainment. The Class is honored to have one of us in so responsible a position in the College. Bill Brown and your secretary were among the other 450 in attendance. Incidentally, Bill and wife Jo and we Feltons have spent several enjoyable evenings together since we both learned the other was here in Syracuse.

Another portion o£ the program at the aforementioned meeting was the sneak previewing of a new color film entitled Dartmouth Outdoors." It is an excellent film and the Class of '45 had a hand in its production, with Bob (L.) Allen doing most of the editing.

Here is a late news flash: Lisle Carter received an LL.B. degree from St. John s University in January, 1950, that is.

In March, the 25th to be exact, Nick Sandoe took time off from his Alumni Fund job to marry Miss Mary Tonneson in St. Thomas Church in Hanover. Rog Brown reported Nick got off to a flying start. Rog is thinking about tying the knot himself in June. Getting back to Nick now, Mary is on the staff of the Botany Department at Dartmouth. She is an alumna of both Hunter College and Mount Holyoke.

Harry Hampton and Virginia Scully were married last fall in Mamaroneck. Virginia attended Rye Country Day School and is an alumna o£ Ursuline Academy and Katherine Gibbs School, New York. Harry is with California-Texas Oil Co. in New York. _ T^n.iiv-tr

Dave Straus was married in January to Louise Anthony of Norwich, Conn, and Columbia U. After a honeymoon in Monterrey and Mexico City they are back in San Antonio.

Howie Germain and Rhoda Perlstein were also married in January. They chose the RitzCarlton as the scene for their wedding. Rhoda is a graduate of Mount Holyoke.

Y., John Mac Donald,Cliff Cosgrove, Tom Beaumont of Ridgewood, N. J., Don Ash of Stamford, Conn., and Mimi and Don deß. Campbell of Glendale, Long Island.

Russ Stryker and Genevieve Louise Fleming announced their engagement back in January. The wedding is to take place in the spring. Genevieve is an alumna of the Flushing Hospital School of Nursing. Russ is doing graduate work at Columbia. You remember that Russ was selected by the Flushing Chamber of Commerce to visit the Netherlands as a good will ambassador last summer.

Bill McVie and Sally Collins of Great Neck, Green Mountain Junior College and Paine Hall School announced their engagement in February. They are also planning a spring -wedding.

Hank Barker and Marilyn Ackerson also chose January as the time to announce their engagement. Marilyn is a graduate o£ the Wilkes-Barre Day School in Forty Fort and is a senior at Sweet Briar (Va.) College.

The Florida Junior Chamber of Commerce presented awards to the five outstanding young men in the State during 1949. One of these men honored for their general contribution to the welfare of Florida was MurraySams. Murray is Assistant State Attorney General and organizer of the Stetson Law School trust. That calls for a Wah-Hoo-Wah.

And now we return to our old friend Barney Oldfield and his own report of his wedding of last fall:

"The Social Calendar brightened to incandescence October 22 last when that personable young man about town, El Barney Oldfield, stepped lightly down the aisle of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Rochester, Pa., to exchange the nuptial vows with the exquisite and scintillating Mile. Molly Scott of Beaver, Pa. Mile. Scott, the Belle of the Beaver Valley, was radiant in a gown of white something-or-other, with orange blossoms and other appropriate gee-gaws tastefully attached to her lovely veil. She is the daughter of Mrs. Basil John Scott and the late Mr. Scott and attended Geneva College, Beaver Falls, Pa., and the College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Va.

"Mr. Oldfield was singularly silent about his past—though it is rumored that he is quite a pot in the Coffee Trust.

"He was gaily bedecked in a dark blue suit with a snazzy new tie. His left pinky was adorned with the spare he carried in case the best man fumbled. "The bride was given in marriage by a close friend of the family who completed the formal motif—he carried a stunning white shotgun.

"Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride. Faint cork-poppings were heard o'er the quiet Ohio throughout the afternoon, deepening to a dull roar and muffled screams later in the evening. The constant buzzing of the neighbor's party lines the following week indicated an enjoyable and successful shindig.

"The newlyweds sped off in a gaily decorated vehicle lovingly bedecked with little remembrances from their friends (?) Those Dogs!!!!

"The itinerary was Cambridge Springs, Pa., Niagara Falls (natch), Toga Town, Good Old Hanover, Nashua, Beantown, New York and back to New Castle. It sure is wonderful to be able to lightly ascend the stairs in the Hanover Inn with a pretty young lass on your arm and mentally thumb your nose at all those who would summarily stop such shennanigaans in former days. The weather was grand and though the leaves had gone that far North, the scenery was a welcome sight, indeed. Molly seemed to enjoy it muchly, though I fear she felt as most Dartmouth wives must—sort of second fiddle-ish once Baker Tower hove into view."

And now we follow Barney and Molly back to New Castle where we get the picture of Barney enjoying married life:

"Things in New Castle are going very well Molly is feeding me into the bay window stage. Me who was afraid she wouldn't be able to cook. Social life has not been much to date, as we haven't had too much of a chance to meet the other young people in town, but that should be worked out in the near future. Am still not too sure how long we will be here, with a move to Detroit a distinct probability in the future. Am doing more traveling for the company as time goes on—most of the trips have been to Detroit so far, and that is where most of the effort will be concentrated for a while. The work is still interesting as the devil, with more work to be done than you can shake a stick at—keeps it from being dull Am most fortunate to be working under one of the top young men in the country, as far as the bearing field goes so really feel that I have a chance to learn a lot. Will not be able to tell if I've learned anything for a while yet—but I should."

That's all the news for now.
