March 17 was as good for the younger Dartmouth alumni as it was for the Sons of Eire. Our second gathering was held at the home of Herb Osborne '42. This meeting found us in even better spirits than at our initial meeting. And the entertainment was just right for the occasion. The singing, done by Herb, HugoSchnabel and myself representing the class of '42, and assisted by Tinner Gordon '41, and Wayne Eves '43 (and tolerated nicely by the wives), would have been a discredit to any glee club.

As a result of this meeting we are planning to have an informal no-host dinner and dance for all Dartmouth Alumni and their wives at the Omaha Club, May 5. So this means that I had better start sending out this year's bills for dues. Otherwise we will be writing the RFC for a friendly loan.

I don't want to forget to mention how much all of us appreciate the work done by the wives of the alumni in this territory. They have spent much time panning and telephoning to gather the loyal sons around the campfire. And they are digging in even stronger for this coming dance. Incidentally, the wives due credit for the largest amount of work on the May dance are Betty Gordon, wife of the inimitable Tinner,"and Evie Walker, wife of DickWalker, ancient class of '28. Evie is in charge of contacting all classes up to '35; and Betty is calling all classes after '35. As the treasurer I can say that we are still solvent only because the wives helped in cutting corners to keep costs down in this new effort to make the Dartmouth Alumni Association of the Plains a solid working club. And don't think they haven't helped us in the matter of favorable publicity.

We hope that readers of this report will remember to contact us at any time during their travels through our town. And if they are around during the coming dance time, we want them to join us.
