Although you are reading this article in March, I am writing it in mid-December. So, if I haven't done so already, I'd like to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year! Keep the news coming! In the "how does she do it?" news: Tamar Buchsbaum Green and her husband, Stuart, are the proud parents of five children—Benjamin (11) Jordan (9), Dina(7), Noah (5) and Yael (newborn). When she's not busy with her crew, Tamar works part time as an internist in a private practice in New Jersey. Tamar and Stuart were also honored by Project Gesher/Torah Links for their involvement in the Jewish community. Brian Downey is a partner with Pepper Hamilton LLP a multi-practice law firm in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In October he was named one of Harrisburg area's top professionals by the Central Penn BusinessJournal in the annual "Forty Under 40" list. Brian focuses on litigation, particularly commercial disputes, product liability claims, employment discrimination claims and environmental matters. He is also president of the board of directors of Open Stage of Harrisburg, a nonprofit regional theater, and coaches youth soccer.
Ann (Rooney) Ewing, our class treasurer, announced that she and her husband, Frank, become the proud parents of Samuel Frank Crockett Ewing, born October 21. "Fie is wonderful and no doubt will be part of the class of 2025!" said Ann. We have three classmates on the Alumni Council: Bill Rodgers, Jim McFarland and David Kotz. Andrea Lordan, a former councilor, is still on the nominating committee and attends council meeting as well. So, we are well represented.
Our own class veep, Bill Rodgers, left William & Mary at the end of December to take a professorship of public policy at Rutgers University's Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. He will also be chief economist of the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development. His wife, Yana, Cornell '87, has a professorship in the gender and women's study department at Rutgers. Bill's family will be moving to Montgomery Township, just north of Princeton. The Rodgers look forward to hosting an '86 event or two. So, one Wednesday evening in November, my husband and I are watching one of our favorite TV shows, Ed, and who do I see, but none other than David Beach. It's a funny thing: David was the one on camera, but when I recognized him it was almost as if I was therewith him.Wishful thinking, perhaps, since I'd love to meet the cast of Ed. Not sure if he'll be making any more appearances. David, if you're reading this, please let me know.
