On the evening of April 8, the University Club saw a very successful and enjoyable annual meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Detroit. In a "hot" election, and in spite of a few write-in votes for some guy called "Ike," the following new officers were elected: President, Bob Grow '33; Vice President, Bob Dewey '42; Secretary-Treasurer, Phil Moon '42; Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, Garv Bawden '47. Elected to the Executive Committee were: Rem Ryder '35 and Roger Graves '37.

Our new president, Bob Grow, gave well deserved thanks to the retiring officers: President, Jack Scolero '42; Vice President, Roger Graves '37; Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, Rem Ryder '35. Bob pointed out that he and his new staff are looking forward to another successful year for the Dartmouth Club of Detroit.

We were very fortunate in having President Dickey as our guest and dinner speaker. He delivered a very entertaining and thought- provoking address comparing the problems, activities and characteristics of the College today with those of the past years more familiar to our collective nostalgia. After pinning President Dickey down with our more perplexed and perplexing questions on the College, a hardy group of fugitives from Kefauver settled down to a penny ante "friendly game" to round out a fine evening.

Activities always seem to run in series and just one week after our annual meeting, the Dartmouth Club of Detroit followed its custom of the past few years of honoring our well-known Dartmouth alumnus in this area: Red Rolfe '31, manager of the Detroit Tigers.

A group of 25 of us enjoyed luncheon together and afterwards, through the kind efforts of Red Rolfe, enjoyed excellent seats for the ball game. In spite of our cheering in the best Dartmouth tradition, the St. Louis Browns eked out a victory over our vastly superior Detroit Tigers!
