It has been a busy time for the Dartmouth stalwarts here, reaching a high point when the Dartmouth Glee Club presented a concert before 500 enthusiastic admirers in the Grosse Pointe High auditorium on April 10. The program was preceded by a dinner at the Country Club of Detroit and followed by a dance and it was certainly one of the best of a series of concerts held here over the years.
Robert J. Grow '33, chairman of the Concert Committee, deserves a big note of thanks as do all of his committee:— Phillip K. Watson '19, Robert Meginnity '25, George E. Manser '26, Arthur C. Lyman '27, John H. Brabb '29, Richard W. Brown '29, Thomas L. Lott '32, Robert W. Sumner '33, S. Remsen Ryder '35, David D. Williams '35, James D. Tracy '36, Donald A. Williams '36, Roger E. Graves '37, Robert W. Hess '41, John L. Scolaro '42, Thomas E. Candler '45, Jeremiah Ludington '48, and Earl Brabb '51.
Before we'd had a chance to settle back from the upsurge in Dartmouth spirit which the Glee Club always creates, April 17 and the opening day of baseball was here. For the third consecutive year the Club took a block of tickets for the Detroit Tiger's opening day in honor of R. A. (Red) Rolfe '31, Manager. Despite a nasty day (and an expected Tiger loss) 20 Dartmouth men sneaked out the back office door to add their moral support to 45,000 others at Briggs Stadium. Our support apparently wasn't enough, but a good time was had by all. Those attending were: F. R. Hush '17, R. S. Hudson '19, P. K. Watson '19, R.Meginnity '25, J. P. Heavenrich '26, G. E.Manser '26, J. H. Palmer '32, R. J. Grow '33, R. W. Sumner '33, C. R. Moon '35, S. R. Ryder '35, J. D. Tracy '36, R. E. Graves '37, J. W.McCuiston '41, R. B. Dewey '42, J. L. Scolaro '42, T. E. Candler '45, W. H. Merrill '45 and G. Bawden '47.
Dartmouth luncheons will be held on the first Monday of every month, 12 noon, at Fisher's, 666 Lothrop Ave. On the remaining Mondays of each month, luncheons will be held at the Old Wayne Club, Wayne Ave., between Michigan and Lafayette.
The results of the elections for new officers are as follows: John L. Scolaro '42, president; Rodger E. Graves '37, vice-president; Philip G.Moon '42, secretary-treasurer; James D. Tracy
