A large and enthusiastic turnout of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of San Diego greeted Eddie Chamberlain '36 April 25 and left the meeting with the conviction that Dartmouth is still doing a great job, not only of building top-caliber new young men but also of retaining vigorous men who so ably carry the Dartmouth message to the far corners of the country. Eddie's talk stirred up so much interest that the entire group kept him for over an hour afterwards to pepper him with thoughtful questions. Movies of the 1951 football season completed the program.
Several new faces improved the scenery and if the police action in the Far East continues a bit longer, the Association may have the complete transfusion it needs to save it from a case of anemia.
Vance Dickerman '31 brought as his guest John Gewalt who has since been accepted by the College as a member of the class of 1956, and we hope we may have many more like him to represent our community in the future.
Carl Erdman '37 and Mel Johnson '46, both in the Navy, represented our military contingent and we look forward to seeing any others who reach these shores.
John Furth and Ben Tice, newcomers toour town in the aircraft business attended, and just about 100% of the old standbysturned out.
