I recently caught up with two of my good friends, Donna Mulvihill and Jen Schwartz, who are both lawyers in Manhattan. Donna graduated from Fordham University School of Law this May and after surviving the dreaded bar exam, spent a few deserved weeks of vacation on Martha's Vineyard. Donna is now a litigation associate at the law firm of Mayer, Brown & Piatt and says "the hours aren't too bad yet.. ."Jen graduated this May from New York University School of Law Jen also tooksome time off after die bar exam and traveled to Italy and then visited family in Tampa, Fla., and Atlanta, Ga., before starting her job as a litigation associ- ate at Willkie, Farr & Gallagher.

Donna heard from Sophie Liberman, who recently got her M.B.A. from the Wharton School. Sophie, ever the adventurer, moved to San Francisco this August. Donna also reports that Tria Katz has been living in New York City for the past year while taking drama classes. Donna and Jen saw Tria's "off-Broadway" debut in a series of one-act plays this summer. Break a leg, Tria!

Cassie Motz is another May 1998 law school graduate. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School. Cassie is currently living in Washington, D.C., and clerking for the Hon. James Robertson on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Due to the changeover in class secretaries I only recently received a letter written ten on June 1, 1998, by Serena(Bucknam) Varley. She and husband, Paul '94, had their second child, Emma Madison, on May 1, 1998. Emma joins big sister Alana Finn in the Verley household. Serena is a third-year law student at Boston University and actually gave birth to Emma last semester on the same day of her final law school exam! Needless to say, she had a good excuse to make up the exam.

On to the news clippings—An article on the 1998 Massachusetts Women's Open noted that Tracy Welch clinched the Massachusetts women's amateur title in July in Salem, Mass., and would be defending her title at the Open in August in Canton, Mass. A Southington, Conn, paper announced that Vernon Geutens, another notable '93 athlete, is an inside salesperson at the Gibbs Wire & Steel Cos. Inc. in Southington. Vernon lives in Cheshire, Conn., with his wife and five-year-old son.

In another Connecticut paper, a headshot of Douglas Johnston appeared. Doug graduated from Harvard Medical School this past June and will be doing his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Apparently the freshman trip idea has caught on at "that school in Cambridge," because Doug served as an organizer and leader of a backpacking trip for incoming first-year medical students. Doug is living in Jamaica Plain, Mass., with his wife, Adrienne (Paine) Johnston. Adrienne is our new class newsletter editor, so be sure to share some of your news with her.

I am still short (no pun intended) on class news so make your New Years' resolution to write to me. Happy Holidays.
