At a lovely church ceremony in Swampscott on May 16, Sally Louise, daughter of Nick and Louise Carter, became the bride of Elisha P. Gould. A reception at the Tedesco Country Club followed the wedding and there we had the opportunity to visit with Steveand Reine Tredennick.

Gubby MacDermott had a serious accident in June. Alone in his car on his way into Boston, he evidently dozed, ran off the Worcester turnpike and crashed into a stone wall. The car was completely demolished and Gubby nearly was. He suffered a fractured pelvis, broken knee cap, broken ribs, cuts and bruises all over. He was hospitalized, for several weeks but made an excellent recovery; for which he owes much, we are sure, to clean, wholesome living.

On August 22 Joan Leubuscher and David, son of Bill and Margaret Angell, were married in Salisbury, Conn.

Cliff and Madelaine Watson visited the west coast of Florida in April. One of the high spots of the trip was a pause for cocktails with Chick and Jean Hopkins at Indian Rocks Beach.

On June 20 Emilie Louise Starke became the bride of "Winthrop W. Piper at Pittsfield, Mass. Win's daughter, Pamela, and his other son, Louis, served in their brother's wedding as flower girl and best man respectively.

Warren F. Daniell was chosen as speaker at the commencement exercises of Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering last June. That was a real honor for Dan who is director of research for the Great Northern Paper Cos.

New York papers recently carried the announcement of the election of Francis H.Horan to the board of trustees of the New York School of Social Work, Columbia University. Frank is also a director of the Citizens Committee on Courts, Inc., a member of the executive committee of Citizens Union, chairman of the Committee on Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar of the New York State Bar Association and of the same committee of the New York County Lawyers Association; All of this, of course, is in addition to being general counsel of Liggett & Meyers Tobacco Cos.

Pvt. Andrew M. Heath Jr. is the newly appointed conductor of the 7th Army Symphony orchestra. Presently he is touring the American zone of Germany to audition service personnel for the soldier symphony.

Summer months attracted many guests to the Hanover Inn. Among them were GeneHotchkiss, John Wood, Jim and Sally Hamilton.

Carter and Allie Hoyt, Jim and Sally Hamilton, Bill and Betty Mann, Odie Lee and your scribe found themselves at the same clambake at Duxbury one August afternoon. The Hamiltons and Manns were there as summer residents of the beach community sponsoring the bake, while the Hoyts and Bullens were there as guests of other residents.

Charlie Earle has moved to Florida to take over in his new position as vice president of the First National Bank of Orlando. He is in charge of new business and his duties will cover the fields of advertising, public relations, publicity and employee relations. These are all areas in which Charlie has had many years of experience. Charlie went to Florida around June 1 and was joined there a month later by Peg, who had to stay behind in New Rochelle long enough to see daughter Barbara off July 1 on a European tour of nine months.

Three Dartmouth sports teams will be led by 1922 sons this year: Seavers Peters will captain the hockey team, Stewie Stearns will captain the squash team, and Bill Rex will captain the golf team.
