A complete and complimentary resume of Karl Brooks' career appeared in an October issue of the Petaluma (Calif.) Argus-Courier. After Dartmouth, Karl attended Stanford Law School, from which he was graduated in 1926. He first practiced law in San Francisco but moved to Petaluma in 1930 where he has continued his private practice while serving as City Attorney since appointment to that office in 1934. He has become eminently qualified in the field of municipal law and his exceptional ability is recognized in the article. Karl and his wife, the former Geneva E. Thompson, have two sons, Charles, aged 17, and Davis, aged 14. In addition to her household duties, Geneva finds time to teach ballet and direct Junior and Senior Assemblies. As extra-curricular activities, Karl has served as president of the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce, of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of Sonoma County and of the City Attorneys Section of the League of California Cities, while holding memberships in the Masons, Elks, Rotary Club, American Legion, Knights Templars, Knights of Pythias and American Bar Association.
These Twoters found opportunity in December to visit Hanover a few days as guests of the Inn: Killie Kilmarx, Carter and AllieHoyt, Carroll and Nan Dwight.
Bill Bullen Jr. '54 resigned from College at Thanksgiving time and has joined the Air Corps. He is presently at Sampson Airforce Base taking his boot training. His brother Jed finished basic training at Parris Island last July and is a Marine Pfc. stationed at Miami.
On November 8, Larry Robinson's son Palmer and Mary Elizabeth Plumer were married at a ceremony in Harris Hill followed by a reception in the Twentieth Century Club, Buffalo. I am chagrined to find I was scooped on this item by the Secretary of '02 who had this news from his classmate, the bride's father, for the December issue.
There are plans under way for an informal reunion at Hanover in March. Carroll Dwight started the ball rolling when, having decided he and Nan would enjoy a weekend up there that month, he suggested that others of us might like to follow suit. The suggestion has been received enthusiastically by those with whom Carroll has had the opportunity to discuss it. The weekend chosen is that of March 13-15 because it is to be one of the quieter Hanover weekends and, thus, one on which rooms will be available at the Inn. There will be no attempt at organization and there will be no publicity beyond this notice, a reminder in the March notes and whatever word of mouth coverage it gets. Each one is on his own in the matter of making hotel reservations. The present nucleus consists of the Dwights, Hoyts, Stetsons, Cohns, Lelands and Bullens. The Manns and Atwoods are probables. Why not join us? It can be a lot of fun. Most of us will plan to arrive in Hanover on Friday and depart on Sunday. I would like to list names in the March column so I will appreciate word from those who are going to be with us. Don't delay too long before applying for reservations.
