My heart is heavy as I start to write these notes for I have just learned of the sudden passing of Bob Hight. It is only a short time ago that we had our informal reunion in Hanover and Bob entertained us one evening with the projection of the fine pictures taken on his bear-hunting expedition to Kodiak Island. Those of us who were in attendance will cherish the memory of that weekend of association with Bob. He will be remembered as one who brought added zest with his horn or guitar to so many of our past gatherings, and he will be sorely missed at future ones. Private services were held May 2 in the Bennett Chapel, Winchester, Mass., at which the class was represented by Fran Leland and DaveCaldwell.

Retail achievements of John C. Wood, president of Brooks Brothers, are cited in a new book, The Great Merchants by Tom Mahoney, just published by Harper's. By a former associate editor of Fortune magazine, this book is an account of twenty famous retail enterprises and the men who made them great.
"Chicago Profiles" by Bob Smith in the March 20 issue of the Chicago American is an interesting story of Mo die Spiegel's career in the mail order business. It is an article which points up the important part played by Modie in the spectacular growth of Spiegel, Inc., from 1922 to date.
From my Cleveland correspondent comes word that Jib Sawyer has sold his home there and moved to California. His new address is 316 Greenoaks Drive in Atherton.
Harry and Margaret Bruckner, accompanied by their son aged 17, spent a weekend in Hanover in late March.
Lined up by Jim Hamilton for the big push are these assistant class agents: Al Acker, Howie Almon, Bill Angell, Sherrill Bates, Harry Bruckner, Ted Davidson, Louis Gluek, Al Lyon, Len Morrissey, Wally Mountcastle, Ben Rassieur, Chris Suttmeier, Bob Turnbull, Van VosBurgh and Dick Willis. That is good coverage geographically and otherwise. Unless you have done so already, you can lighten the burden of our task force if you will give now and as generously as you can.
Have a pleasant summer! After you have made your Alumni Fund contribution, that is.
