Affairs on Long Island for the year 1952-53 wound up with our annual meeting held May 21, at the Garden City Country Club. ButchHillard '41 organized the meeting and a sizable group attended. Frank Rath '30 presented a gift on behalf of the association to FrederickMartyn '94, the oldest living alumnus on Long Island. Edward Warnke '19 made the Tomahawk award to our past president, AlviNMarks '34, for his excellent work during the year as our leader.

Our guest tor the evening from Hanover was George Colton '35, executive secretary of the Dartmouth Development Council and editor of the Bulletin. He gave us his views on college leadership, the professors, staff, and curriculum. It was one of the most interesting extemporaneous treatments we have heard in some time, and we thank him for it.

In the regular course of business, the newly elected officers were announced. Our president will be Willard Doyle '33 from Baldwin, and his staff as follows: Ist Vice President, Wesley D. Goding '39; 2nd Vice President, John N. O'Connor '41; Treasurer, Audley Brindley Jr. '46; Asst. Treasurer, T. Henry Hillard '41; Secretary, Roland R. Hummel Jr. '42; and Asst. Secretary, Richard H. Darby '41. New committeemen are William J. Wischmann '38 and John Gambling Jr. '51.

One executive committee meeting during the summer was held on June 27 at Willard Doyle's "Acres" in Baldwin. About 15 of us exchanged ideas and helped set up new committees for the coming year. Doyle's "Acres" is a beautiful tribute to terrific effort on his part to convert a large area into a miniature paradise. Copious refreshments were served and much head work accomplished.

We expect to start regular meetings for the new year September 16 at Ed Warnke's Lynbrook home. There seems to be scuttlebutt in the wind that a Christmas meeting with home-coming freshmen will be on the agenda. This seems as good a way as any to kick off the new season.
