In going through the files when preparing Dana Sears' obituary, we struck an interesting thing. In a letter dated February 18, 1936, on reporting to L. B. as to his anticipated activities as a counsellor at a Y.M.C.A. camp, he wrote, "You see I am going back to childhood joys for I spent 17 years in boys camps before 1905, and perhaps I can now have 17 more summers before I pass on." He died on February 12, 1953.
L. B. occasionally complained that his Class Notes were not read. From the following your Secretary feels there might be something to it. In the February issue appeared this sentence: "Of the 110 deceased members of the Class we have the addresses (up to 23 after long effort) of widows; (104 other relatives) most of whom maintain close affiliation with the Class, ..." No one has questioned this gibberish; whether through failure to read it, or because of kindly regard for the Secretary's feelings, he can't guess. What was actually written was: "Of the 110 deceased members of the Class we have the addresses (as to 23 after long effort) of widows (or other relatives) of 104, most of whom maintain close affiliation with the Class."
In the absence of specific news from individuals, we furnish the following statistics. Ages are not mentioned but we may say, we hope without offense, that the years named, indicate the passing of a certain landmark by each.
