I guess this is my last issue before a long and (I hope), dry, summer vacation. Have you ever seen such rain?!!!? But I again want to remind you New Yorkers, and vicinity, that I'm expecting you at our Friday, June 12, dinner at the Dartmouth Club in the big city. Make it a big affair and show up....

All of us will meet at the wedding, presumably with many other classmates there, and only to kiss the bride. The hell with Arthur!!!!! I've given up my annual trek to Hanover that weekend to the Alumni Officers' Meeting, so that kiss looms as a whopper!

Two letters from Capt. Dave Vogels, our Class Treasurer, who's a navigator out of Japan. Dave reports, besides his recent promotion which he waited eight years for, that his wife Mimi has recently joined him in Nippon, which makes his term of office much easier to swallow. Dave has bumped into Dick Raybold with wife and son, who are stationed at the same base. Dick is one of the lucky ones who was expecting separation that month. (That word "separation" certainly has a dual effect -at College we dreaded it.) Dave reports that in Tokyo there is quite an active Dartmouth alumni group, but no other '49ers. Needless to say, he too will not be at next week's Hanover meeting. ...

Back to Art Wallace ... besides reporting the shortness of his nails as the ominous clay approaches, Art reports that he has seen Billand Nomi Ballard, John and Joan Sweetland,Tom and Ann Swartz, Ray King and Ed Grant on several of his travels while selling for his Dad's Rug Manufacturing Co....

That seems to be it for this year. Now you all have several months' relief from my dribble, but you also have much time to write me with suggestions, criticisms, etc. Anyway, WRITE. Have a good summer, and remember, you New Yorkers, I want to see you June 12.
