These notes are written in the aftermath of the hurricane at Monument Beach on Cape Cod. No electricity, so we go to bed at dark. We are fortunate enough to have a gas and coal range, and water. So we get along as pioneers. Water came within a foot of reaching our land.

A. K. Smith died July 13 at Gloucester, Mass. He was at the Eight-Class Dinner in Boston in May and did not then look his usual rugged self.

Have heard only from Ned Kenerson. He was in Colorado at the time, after an extended trip, including Yellowstone, Salt Lake City, Kenecott Copper Mines and several canyons. He hoped to see Billy Grant. He reported RoyBergengren at Estes Park at a credit union conference.
