Leigh Kimball has written the following poem to:
Th' Old College Bell
From learning's shrine in age-old halls, From Alma Mater's ivied walls, 'Mid campus shade in mellowed tones, Th' Old College Bell called loyal sons; Out sheltering tower came a peal That stirred emotion strong and real. Awe-bearing sound in "freshman fall," Later insistent, irking call When pleasure mocked at books and care, Or courage lagged in April air. Too swiftly four short years sped by, It tolled their end - pathetic cry. Echo of friendships staunch and true, Story of struggles worried through, From out the mists of many a year, Its cherished notes still haunt my ear; As then it urged to wisdom's quest, Still it bids me seek the best.
