Once again we are in the midst of the fall season after a pleasant and most enjoyable summer. A few months ago, on June 26, we had our annual picnic at Valley Forge Farm. Over 150 Dartmouth men, wives, children, and girl friends enjoyed themselves in the beautiful setting in Valley Forge. The weather was ideal except for a brief shower prior to picnic time. Swimming, Softball, and lounging were the order of the day. The refreshments of hot dogs, cokes, and beer were heartily consumed. If you couldn't attend this one, we strongly urge you to attend the next one that is held, for everyone had a wonderful time.

Our sincere thanks go to Mr. and Mrs. JimTindle '36 for their hospitality in allowing us to use their farm. Appreciation must also be rendered to Buck Mansfield '44, Smed Ward '43, and Ed Byrkit '47 for their effort in making this event a success.

By this time all of the Dartmouth alumni in the Philadelphia area should have received a copy of the 1954 Directory. If not, please advise the Secretary and he will forward you one. If there are any errors or omissions, please notify the Secretary so that his records may be corrected. A pretty good response on the Directory information requested was received, although there is no reason why all of the alumni couldn't have replied.

The Freshmen Father-Son dinner was held on September 9 at the Dartmouth Club. A large group of mighty good looking freshmen and their dads were on hand. We know these fellows will enjoy every minute up at Hanover, and we wish them the best of success.

We hope that more of you will give active support to our alumni organization. All these events are for your benefit, so we ask you to come out and meet your old classmates and Dartmouth men from other classes. The more the merrier!

A Wah! Hoo! Wah! to Sherry Baketel '20 for receiving the Jerome Clark Award from the Union Central Life Insurance Company for making the greatest progress in agency development during the past year. May he win the award again next year.
