The Club, which has quite a full program planned for this year, began activities on September 9, with a luncheon for the sixteen new freshmen from this area and their fathers. Eddie Chamberlain '36 was present from Hanover and Bob Andrews '57 gave the neophytes some timely advice and an outline of things they might expect.

On September 15 the Hartford Club was host at a meeting which Bill Bates '33 (our new member on the Alumni Council) called together for the various chairmen of the interviewing and enrollment committees throughout Connecticut. There were approximately thirty in attendance, including Stony Jackson '36 and Eddie Chamberlain from Hanover, and considerable interest was shown in the discussion which took place. On September 26 a cocktail party for the Club was held at the attractive home of Charlie and OpalMarie Zimmerman in West Hartford and attendance ran to about 150 for this gala affair.

Nearly 100 alumni came out to hear Red Rolfe at a pre-Yale game dinner held October 28 in East Hartford. The age make-up of this group varied considerably and showed that there are a number of alumni of different ages in the Club who take an interest in Red and the athletic program of the College.

The Dartmouth Glee Club is scheduled to appear before us on Friday evening, December 3, at the Duffy School in West Hartford this is a new auditorium with perfect acoustics. The committee on this is headed by Culver Modisette '50. The Club is planning to obtain a block of tickets for those wishing to attend the New England Basketball Conference at the University of Connecticut during the last week of December. The program for the balance of the year will be highlighted by a dinner meeting with President Dickey next spring.
