February was far from the social lowpoint usually associated with the end of winter, judging from the active schedule last month of the Dartmouth Club of Hartford.
About 500 alumni and their wives attended the kick-off dinner, Feb. 10, at the Hartford Club for the Capital Gifts Campaign in the area. Local club member and campaign chairman, Charles J. Zimmerman '23, and college vice-president, Orton Hicks '21, were among the speakers. Bud Walls '38, local capital gifts chairman, was host at the dinner.
Two days later club members witnessed the gridiron gifts of last year's Ivy League football champions. The College's movie of the season's highlights drew an overflow crowd of alumni out to the regular luncheon meeting.
February 21 found many of the same sports enthusiasts at the new, fish-shaped hockey rink in New Haven where the club sponsored an outing to see the Yale-Dartmouth match.
