The principal speaker at our Miami Club's January 15 meeting was Tuss McLaughry. Fifty-one enthusiastic alumni and wives turned out to welcome our Head Football Coach to the land of the palm trees. Tuss had just arrived in Miami from Sarasota where he met with his fellow members of the N.C.A.A. Rules Committee, and had much of interest to tell us concerning that meeting and Dartmouth's football outlook for the next few years. As do all of our visitors from Hanover, Tuss with his very interesting anecdotes about the Big North Country made us all wish that we could catch a glimpse of those cool and misty mornings, and hear Baker's bells once again sound the time of day.

The second speaker of the evening was Stanley Woodward, life-long friend of Tuss McLaughry. Mr. Woodward was once associated with the Boston Herald and later became sports editor of the New York Herald Tribune. He is presently sports editor of the Miami Daily News.

Several of the alumni group attending the meeting were winter visitors, but most of the people were native Floridians. We were glad to note some men from Fort Lauderdale and points north were present.

This Club is now making plans to engender enthusiasm for Dartmouth among the secondary-school boys, and we hope to increase the attendance from the South Florida section. Greater Miami is now sending eleven men to Hanover.
