Our 62nd reunion went off pleasantly as scheduled July 7, 8, 9, though with sadly reduced numbers. C.C. Hills had arranged for our comfort in the way of the three delicious class meals, the last as usual on Sunday at the Outing Club. Some of us braved the heat of the sunny day Saturday to view the wonders of the Norwich Fair, oxen, old and young, and all.

You will have seen the list of those attending in S. B. Cunningham's 1905 Reporter. We were happy to find the Grovers,"Elsie" and Marion, able to be with us after their absence for health reasons last year. We particularly missed Huston Lillard who up to a few days before his death June 30 had hoped to be with us. For an account of the interests and achievements of this loyal, actively devoted member of our class, see his obituary under In Memoriam in this or a subsequent issue.

At the class meeting it was voted to continue with our regular reunion next year. There was some discussion as to plans for the bicentennial year, 1969, but nothing was settled that can be made public yet. It was good to learn from Roger Brown that our class finances were in fine shape. It was voted to appoint a committee to handle scholarship grants to descendants of '05 men accepted at Dartmouth out of class funds available after special expenses had been met. A vote of thanks was made to C.C.Hills for his continued work as class reunion chairman, also to Roger and to the assistant to the secretary, Mildred Putnam.

Ethel Lillard has sent me a copy of an editorial in the "Quincy Daily Herald" written by the editor, Charles Eichenauer. "Eichy" will be kindly remembered as an able debater in College. This editorial expresses in eloquent language a glowing tribute to Huston Lillard. Though the date is not included, it was evidently at the time when Huston was building up so successfully Tabor Academy. It records various events in Huston's life up to that time and comments on his success in football himself and as a coach in that sport, and also particularly his devotion and inspiration as a mentor of boys as headmaster of that school.

Huston's passing left vacant the position Class Bequest Chairman, which he had held so successfully for some years. The Class is fortunate in having a successor fully capable of handling the duties of this position, Ernest White. As you know, he is still active in the law firm of Redman, White and Willey with his office in downtown Portland. We welcome "Cy" to our executive board.

Fred Chase arranged a second class reunion for those who, like himself, had not been able to attend in July. At luncheon at the Hanover Inn on Aug. 19 were Ethel Lillard and her sister, Mrs. Fannie Ames, Emily Day, also C.C. Hills.

Who shall say that it is never too late to learn? Roger Brown is establishing a record for continued attendance at Alumni College.
