More Dartmouth guys, indubitably, are centered in this cultural community than any place of similar size in the good old U. S. A. They established some kind of record when 100% of the alumni attended the Dartmouth banquet in the neighboring village of Cleveland. They were that venerable character, Jack Childs '09; Eddie Malz '19, the country squire of Jackson Road; Evie Petot '22, who used to play anchor banjo on the Barbary Coast orchestra, and now Is sales manager in Ohio for Hormel meats; Artful Art Moebius '34, salesman for Waverly and Glosheen, fabulous fabrics; Tom Douglas '44, former football captain, who's captaining a growing family; and Bob Harris '44, a rising young executive who heads the publication, Jobbers News.

Let's be fair to Cleveland and see what's cooking with some of those birds. Lou Cody '19 had a tough accident while rehearsing for the annual show of the Cleveland Skating Club. He locked skates with another skater and in his fall smashed a vertebra. Lou'll be in a cast for nine weeks or so. Let's hope for a complete recovery. In the same show, MaurieCogan '28, well known Irishman about town, was in a comedy .skit with Joe Hendrich '50 and Neal Brunner '46.

Hort Conrad '25 has associated himself with a Cleveland outfit and plans to make the Forest City his home.

The local boys will be sorry to lose NelsRanny '30, who's moving his business (superior floor coverings) and family to Cincinnati where he's consummated the purchase of an estate with a swimming pool.

June'll be a big month for Charlie Vanderhoof '49. He's a two birds with one stone killer, taking unto himself a bride and spending his honeymoon at the fifth reunion of his class.

Society note: Fred Chandler '51, nephew of Ellwood H. Fisher '21, chairman of the board of Fisher Foods, aggressive Cleveland food chain, and George Fisher '30, advertising manager `of the same company, crashed the society page of local papers by getting married to Jane Ann Burge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Burge. John is a partner in Ball, Burge & Kraus, Cleveland investment firm where Ced Wellsted '09 is also a partner. Eben Cockley '40 has been appointed to the job of assistant U. S. district attorney - a remarkable opportunity for experience for a rising young barrister. Eben is secretary of the Cleveland Dartmouth Association.
