Depending on whether the hinge of fate has squeaked closed on you, you'll be participating in some of those activities more than others. Let's start by checking up on the latest candidates for the rake and mop crews at...

THE HITCHING POST - Dr. Paul Lena took his wedding vows with Joan Radcliffe Hadley last April 23, just in time to make the lawn mower team. Joan, from Springfield, Vt„ is a graduate of Colby Junior College, and works as a medical secretary at Mary Hitchcock where Paul is a resident physician. We saw the old sawbones last spring, and can testify that he's hale and hearty.

On May 11 in Chattanooga Jacquelyn Margaret Johnson and Rocky Smyth were married. The bride is an alumna of Centenary J. C. and Rock's with the Provident Insurance folk.

Dan McCarren took Judith Ann Reilly as his better half in East Orange last May 14. Her alma mater is Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart, Purchase, N. Y., and Dan is with the Boyle-Midway division of American Home Products Corp., and he extolls the attributes of aerosol items at the drop of a hat. Two '49s were in the wedding party, Tom Swartz and Bob Alden.

On the same day in Hartford Sher Marchant acted as groom in a ceremony with Anita Eger. The Head is rustlin' for the Connecticut Beef Company. Anita attended Hartford College and graduated from Wheaton.

May 21 in Springfield, Vt., saw Bob Burns drummed out of corps of bachelors when he married Marilyn Dorothy Fairman, who went to the University of Vermont and Simmons College. Dr. Aaron Stevens was best man.

Were a bit prejudiced on this next item, but we thought it was a pretty good party and a pretty good group that showed up in Pleasantville, N. Y., that same afternoon. My charming bride is the former Elizabeth Ann Sherwood, Wooster College '51, and an employee of the Rockefeller Foundation. GeneUlrich and Ken Rothchild were among the traffic cops, and the turnout of Greens was flattering - Ron and Elaine Bohle, Bill and Judy Cross, Dolph Cramer, Dick Echikson, Ken Edelson, Jack Harned, Dick Higley '51, Mai Hill, Walt and Rose Mary Lindenthal, Rick and Eileen Miller, Julie and Nadia Olney '51, Andy Wilde, Whit Williams, and last, but not least, flying in from Chicago, Ole Uncle Herb Ray. Betts and I have added decent accommodations for all errant Indians and herewith offer our abode for parties, banquets, and business conventions henceforth and forever more. Terms: 2% loth prox.

As usual June copped more nuptials than one could shake a stick at. If you wanted to, you could start by noting that Dick Wallace and Nancy Ann Ritchie of Portland, Me., walked the aisle then. Nancy went to Westbrook Junior College.

It was June 11 for Jim Leahy and Letitia Amory Sargent of Needham, Mass., and St. Timothy's. Jim continued his studies at the University of Grenoble and the Sorbonne. Steve Flemer acted as best man, and Colin Stewart '4B ushed.

That day in Danbury Carol Whitman became the bride of Pat Brewster. She graduated from Middlebury and was attending Harvard while Pat finished his law studies there last spring.

Dr. Sam Jefferson and Jean Louise Duerner of Detroit Lakes, Minn., were married June 13. Jean attended Minnesota and graduated from Georgia while Sam's M.D. came from Michigan.

Another pair who united in matrimony were Bob Myers and Gail Sigourney Andersen of Hartford, Conn. They're now ensconced in River Forest, Ill. Date was June 18.

St. Patrick's in New York was the locale for Wes Field and June Patricia Kertscher of Rockville Center on June 23. Wes would like to study a few samples of his boss' commodity, the employer being Chase Manhattan Bank.

Jim Lyons was espoused of Mary Manning MacLellan in Manchester, N. H., also on June 23. Bob Foster helped out in the ushering matters. Mary attended Barat College, Lake Forest, Ill., and graduated from Mount St. Mary in Hooksett, N. H. Jimbo is laboring with commercial considerations at Hahvud B School.

Bob Devitt tied a nuptial knot with Mary Jane Stetser of Wappingers Falls, N. Y., June 24. She's a St. Lawrence '49. They're settled near Newburgh, N. Y., where Bob's barristering.

We'll hold the summer affairs for next time and turn to .. .

WALKING THE LAST MILE - Hal Fitkin has pleasant prospects in mind as he whiles away his Army days in Germany thinking of his impending altar altercation with Donna Mae Knox of Toledo. Donna went to Rollins and graduated from Northwestern, and she'll give Hal a battle on the links having been Indiana Two-Ball champ three times!

On June 8 the intentions of Charlie Lake and Barbara Sue Stinson were proclaimed in Frederick, Md., where she went to the University of Maryland.

And latest news from the Windy City area reveals that Jay Buck has succumbed to the charms of Mary Howell, sister of Bill '49, from Beaver, Pa. February is the big month.

RATTER PRATTLE — Skip Fauver proudly notes that Eugenie presented him with a tenpound girl-san February 19, name of Betsy. With his Master's from Harvard Business School firmly grasped, J. K. headed for Lockport, N. Y., in June to mastermind things at Dewey & Almy Chemical. Buffalo residents take heed.

"A New Belle of the Bawl" for Peg andMark Tourtellotte was named Greta Lee on April 19.

Dodie and Bob Thomson want to know if there is any room left in the Class of '75 for their May 6 youngster, Christopher Elliott, born in Stamford, Conn.

George Nugent writes, "Stephen Tyler joined sister Caroline, aged 2, in the UNH barracks at Durham. I'm working on a Master's in education and will enter the fold of New Hampshire teachers next year."

Ben and Bets Johnson had a daughter on May 16, Melissa Anne.

"How could parents so quiet and mild, Have such a Summa Cum Louder child?" asked Cul and Bee Modisette when Peter Forbes arrived May 26. This eight-and-threequarters pounder provoked an additional query: "Who sleeps?" On Flag Day in Jacksonville, Pattie and Rene Blanc welcomed Deborah Susan.

It was a diminutive Mary Beth type gal for Walt and Rose Mary Lindenthal on June 18. Thai should be in good shape for this arrival, what with his connegshuns in Macy's kiddies' furniture department. Put that in your hints-to-husbands file. "The Catch of the Season," say Nan and Ray Peppard, was Linda Ramsdell, June 20.

If the new parents in July and August will be patient, we'll record your accomplishments next month. For now, to you and to the vest button poppas above, Congrats.

We'll tip our editorial hat to various '50s whose recent accomplishments have made news as the pigskin season rolls on, but let's call it quits here and plan on cheering the Big Green often. Pass the "coffee" again, buddy, my feets is still cold!
