The spring meeting of the Tokyo Dartmouth Club was held at the Azabu Mansion. It was the usual dinner meeting but was greatly enhanced by the beautiful garden-like setting of the Azabu Mansion Club plus the excellent food. Dartmouth men and their families began arriving at 6:00 p.m. and even before dinner everyone had been introduced to the new members in town for the meeting, plus renewing older friendships. Our special honored guests for this meeting were Lloyd K.Neidlinger '23 and his wife. He was well remembered by many Dartmouth men here, who were undergraduates while he was dean. At present he is secretary for the International Chamber of Commerce and was acting in that capacity at the ICC meeting which was held in Tokyo in mid-May.
After dinner and discussing a few items of business, Mr. Neidlinger talked informally with us both about Dartmouth and the ICC meeting. We all enjoyed his comments and a lively discussion followed, with many of the alumni asking questions about Hanover and many other subjects. One of the new members we welcomed was Colonel Ames '16, who was on his way home from Korea. There was a good turnout of members, with 24 people there.
Any of you wandering Dartmouth men are always welcome and we can guarantee some sort of a get-together, even if you only will be in town for an evening!
