Louis P. (for Preserved) Benezet '99 whose innumerable services to the College range from throwing the hammer and writing a valuable history of Dartmouth athletics, to inducing scores of cream of the crop mid-western boys to become Hanover freshmen, was hailed as magnus Apollo of the Pacific Enrollment Conference last month. As erect as "Eric" Foster, his hair unsinged by time, Benezet represented the fifty members of the Dartmouth Club of Honolulu. His sparkling personality required no island-made accessory to mark him as a true unique among delegates in San Francisco - a city convention ridden since birth.

Benezet '99, teacher and educator ina dozen centers, poured out counsel andcourage and then flew on to ColoradoSprings where his son, Louis T. Benezet'36, president of Allegheny Collegefrom 1948 to 1955, was to be inducted aspresident of Colorado College, at Colorado Springs. For those who crave inspiration address: Louis P.
