Heth Dessau, widow of Alvin H. Dessau, died at Katonah, N. Y., after a long illness. Heth will be missed by so very many in the Class, for her interest in the Class and the College as the wife of a 1913 man was outstanding. She was born in Omaha, Nebr., and was a graduate of Vassar College, 1913. In New York she did social work with the United Service Organizations, Travelers Aid Society and institutions on Welfare Island.
Bob and Alice More in Denver have been enjoying a visit from Jerry and his wife. Jerry is doing famously in motion pictures in Hollywood and Althea is a designer of note of contemporary furniture. Bob is at Suite 1010, Mile High Center, 1700 Broadway, Denver.
The Vic Dunbars spent time in New Hampshire twice this summer at Pine Bluff Inn, Auburn, N. H., near the Carl Forsaith's and at Conway Lake. Don '44 with a friend from the State of Washington were with them for his vacation.
Ralph Fischer was one of the dozens in the class disappointed with inability to reserve accommodations at the Inn this Fall. Ralph's disappointment was keener than many as he had not been back to reunions or games since 1913, and was entertaining, he hoped, two visitors from England. Bill Towler, Harv McClary, the Knights, Warde Wilkins and so many others have found excellent rooms and service in the splendid new motels around Hanover.
At the Harvard game the following were seen in Hanover: Jewett's, Shepards, HalKnights, Brig. Knights, Conants, the Buff urns,Trowbridges, Milt Aronowitz, Marc andFrances Wright, Munseys, Fred Page and Harry French. Any missed?
Harry Semrtles' Portrait of Patton continues to receive fine reviews - in fact they grow better and better. We have spoken of Mark Watson, selected by Ike to write the first two volumes of WW II history, as enthusiastic. Fitzhugh Turner was very complimentary in The Fauquier Democrat (Va., a Warrenton paper). Turner has just become associated with U. S. News and World Report, as a book reviewer, so that of Harry's has a high standing. In October the book hit the Washington, D. C., and vicinity best seller list of non-fiction. Harry is at home in Rockville, Md., recuperating after a successful operation at the hospital.
Merry Christmas to all.
