Among the many Christmas greetings received, and for which we herewith thank one and all, was a stirring Christmas message from Bino Knight, together with a copy of Today, a monthly publication for daily devotional use. The January issue was edited by Bino and his wife, and they also contributed two of the articles. This issue carried on its front cover a picture of "The Old Man of the Mountain" of which Daniel Webster once said; "Men hang out their signs indicative of their respective trades ... but up in Franconia Mountains God Almighty has hung out a sign to show that in New England he makes men."

While you are reading these notes the Reinserts and the Naramores are either in California or Hawaii, expecting to be back in the environs of Hanover about April 1. The Luke Giles advise that son Ned and wife have twin daughters in California. Marian is going out on a tour of inspection in March.

Wag Green had an eye-catching envelope for his Christmas mailings. It was all green ink, and in addition to the P-B Meter Stamp in green was the slogan "Make this a 'GREEN' Christmas." In case you may have forgotten, Wag is president of W. A. Green Co., The Department Store of Dallas, Texas - protagonists of Neiman-Marcus notwithstanding.

Sometime ago Cap Lawrence had. a note from Dorothy Loudon. One quote from it to which we all would subscribe, runs, "He was so vital I'm sure he will live as long as we do. A great man!"

John Hanna writes an interesting letter which I'm sure you all will enjoy sharing. Says John:

"I was flattered by Win Snow's reference to my lively experience as an Inspector of Election at the famous New York Central annual meeting That was a three weeks' concentration on being diplomat judge, office manager and policeman. During the'year I was also a consultant to the New York Law Revision Commission on the Uniform Commercial Code and a consultant to the AttorneyGeneral's Committee to study the anti-trust laws. This year opens with a pleasant invitation to speak at Dartmouth to the pre-law group on January 18th.

"After our June reunion, attended by my son John and daughter Cornelia, John had a motor tour of Europe and Cornelia was president of the Penzance Players on the Cape. My daughter, Elisabeth who like her sister Margaret (Mrs. Dewitt Clinton Tones III) was born in Hanover, is soon to marry Dr. Valentin von Braitenberg of Rome and Merano. Elisabeth was graduated from the Brearley School and Barnard College and also attended Vassal, Laval, Columbia, The Free University of Berlin The University of Florence and the University of Rome Dr. Braitenberg after medical studies in Switzerland, Italy and Germany, recently passed in Rome his specialist examination m neurology, summa cum laude. He is the son of Senator and Mrs. Carl von Braitenberg of Merano, whose families have been prominent in the Tyrol for centuries.

"A sad recollection of our thirty-fifth reunion is that Elisabeth and I took Vah an Kalendertan on our drive back to New York. Kelly left us after agreeing with Elisabeth on the menu or an Armenian dinner she was to have as his guest in the autumn. He died before we saw him again.

It is reliably reported that W. L. "BillFletcher died sometime in November. I hope to have more details later.

Just as these notes are going to Hanover an air mail letter comes in from FernandoGuarch saying he is still growing sugar cane in Puerto Rico and has three grandchildren. On December 27, Joan "Posie" Piane was married to Richard Fowler '54 in Saint Thomas Church, Hanover. In spite of what you may have read in Bill Cunningham's column, the groom's name was Richard Fowler, but don't blame Bill —he doesn't run the linotype! 1914 was well represented by the parents of the bride and others whom you may recognize in the picture taken by our Staff Photographer in Hanover, M. J. Remsen.

If anyone studied the Christmas greeting of the Flanders there should be no question of their being dubbed "The Peripatetic Phlanders." Here today, half-way around the world tomorrow! They sure do get about!

Called on Bert Symonds the other day and learned that Harold Brown has been in the Quincy Hospital with pneumonia but is now at home recuperating and should be out and about again when this issue reaches you.

Happy New Year to all.
