With too great frequency it has been necessary to commence this column with news of the loss of classmates and this month is no exception. Since our last report Jack Field and Jim Heenehan have left us and you will find more of the details in the In Memoriam Section. The sympathy of the Class is extended to their families.
Clyde Buckley has retired after many years with the United Carr Fastener Co. He says he is getting "housemaids' knee" looking after the household duties while wife Polly is recuperating. By the time he reads this it's a good bet that he'll be thinking of the fishing.
From various sources, all believed authentic, we learn that Elly Buck has been in Africa, Hod Potter in Arizona and the Peripatetic Phlanders in Eleuthera (had to get out the map of the Bahamas on that one). Many others are in Florida, including Squire Remsen of Etna, who is recuperating from a broken wrist. He did not give the details on the wrist - maybe he's gone back to milking cows again! All this was going on in late January and early February, so probably they are all back by this time.
If the boys are not traveling, they're moving to new locations and here are some changes of address: Gus Fuller has sent in a mail address at P.O. Box 793, St. Petersburg, Fla., but does not say whether this is a permanent spot for retirement or merely an escape from the rigors of a Pittsburgh winter. George Gilbert has retired and can be reached at 321 Pembroke Road, Bala-Cynwyd, Pa. Although retired, he still has some parttime educational activities. Paul Simanton, still in Salem, has a new place at 29 Andover St.
"Paducah" Palmer has emerged from clouds of cigar smoke with a tentative program for "The First 44th Annual Reunion ever celebrated in Hanover." The Newsletter will give you more details, so don't fail to read with care and plan accordingly.
