A large group of undergraduates and their fathers, as well as alumni, attended our annual Dutch Treat Luncheon held at the William Penn Room in Gimbel's on Tuesday noon, December 28. We had two interesting short talks - one by H. N. Van Duyn '26, general manager of the new Lord & Taylor store in this area, on retail marketing, and one by Sherry Baketel '20, general manager of the Union Central Life Insurance Co. in this city, on insurance. Both men pointed out the advantages of college men entering these fields.
We wish to pay tribute at this time to two men in our organization who have done a great job on enrollment and interviewing prospective students. Jack Heston '28 and BobBinswanger '52 have put a lot of hours on this work and we appreciate it. In addition, JimTindle '36 has put forth much effort on the College's behalf. These fellows are always in need of assistance, so if any of you alumni in the Philadelphia area would like to help in this activity, please contact one of the above or the Secretary for further information.
Don't forget Monday evening, March 28, the Dartmouth College Glee Club will be in Philadelphia. Make plans now to attend and bring your friends. Further details of exact time and place will be mailed shortly.
