Well excuuuse me! Sure, I wrote in January that I prefer warm weather, but I wasn't asking for 90 days of 90 degrees, or whatever we had this summer. Fortunately, you all seemed to have done some pretty cool things. Ok, sorry for my lame intro. You get what you pay for. Anyway, here's whazzup.

Seems there was at least one meteorologically attractive place to be...in Hanover, of course. Great weather welcomed back a host of '79s for a July reunion with the '54s and '04s. The extravaganza kicked off with a panel on co-education featuring our own Penny Breed, Joan Crane Barthold, Nancy Schwartzman Malmquist and Eleanor Shannon as lead panelists. Ken Beer hid while the women recounted how they were treated in the '7os in Hanover. Uniform recollection: Sexism was more prevalent at grad school and on the job than it was in Hanover. More than 50 '04s were in the audience for the presentation. Dinner that night at El Prez Bags' had a dozen '04s join our classmates for revelry and beer pong, including NCAA ski champ Roger Brown, who humored masters specialist Jim Feuille. Burr and Liz Gray schooled Stan-o Weil, Juan Currier and Beerski in Pong. Saturday morning started with an impressive 5k run, including Walter "'79 Wannabe" Malmquist leading the pack. We had nearly 30 for golf including a dozen '79s featuring Charlie "Long Ball" Carr and Jim "Fore" Wasz (your prior class scribe) on the new Dartmouth track. Tom "Harley" Tomai and John Dolan joined in along with the '54s and '04s at dinner sponsored by Thayer School. More pong finished off the night. But there's more! Proving they were (old) men, eight of your class-mates got up at 5:30 a.m. (stayed up, no doubt) for more golf on the D-track, this time from the championship tees. The six miles got the better of everyone except Doc Carr before it was all over, but it was a great time with loads of yucks. The event finished off with a bona fide Thayer brunch (nobody there at 10 a.m.) with the '54 and 'O4 organizers. Excellent time. Check out the cool pics on the Web site.

Pete Roby has found life after Reebok. Northeastern University recently named the big fella director of its Center for the Study of Sport. I guess now he can stop painting ceilings in his house.

Word out of Fairfield, Connecticut, that Dave Nemiah has been appointed group director of research at The Interbrand Corp. Based in New York, Dave will create customized primary research tools that will be used to develop corporate identity programs and repositioning plans for Interbrand clients. Prior to joining Interbrand Dave held positions at several companies directing new product positioning and branding for global clients. Nice promo!

AJune mini-reunion was held at the home of George Lester 'BO. Among the '79s who attended were Brad Richardson, Jim Geller, Phil Odence, Rob Brace, Judy Brier Donnelly and Michael McCoy. Phil didn't get the exact headcount on 'Bos, maybe six or eight. Turned out to be a pleasant Sunday afternoon and Phil's kids didn't start whining about wanting to go home until after two hours, so that was good. Pics on the Web site.

Last item for this issue is news from the wire that Dawn Hudson was named president of the new PepsiCo Beverages and Foods North America division. This division combines Pepsi-Cola, Gatorade, Tropicana and Quaker Foods in the United States and Canada. Dawn was formerly the senior VP of strategy and marketing for the unit. Congrats! That's it. Keep em coming!
