On December 28 the Dartmouth Club of Washington held its annual luncheon to honor the undergraduates who were home for vacation and also those men of the Washington area who have made application to Dartmouth. The luncheon was held in the spacious Washington Room of the Hotel Washington, our new headquarters, and we had one of the largest turnouts for a function of this nature that we have had in recent years with many of the fathers of these young men also in attendance.

With our Club President Col. Willis S. Fitch'17 presiding, we had the opportunity to meet and talk with fathers and those young men who are currently enjoying the benefits of Dartmouth, as well as those who are hopeful of a future association with the College.

The highlight of the occasion was to listen to the first-hand reports from the undergraduates. William P. Daisley '58 gave an exceptionally fine talk on the trials, tribulations and activities of a freshman; Bryce E. Moody '57 enlightened us with information about the various military training programs currently in force on the campus; C. Alan Peyser '56 brought us up to date on the college athletic teams; and Donald M. Kurth '55 expressed his reflections on his years at Dartmouth and what they have meant to him. Each of the talks was excellent and served as an inspiration not only to the members of the Club but also to those men who are making application to Dartmouth.

With our program of monthly functions well established, we are looking forward to our next meeting at the Hotel Washington on March 3 at dinner when our honor guest will be Red Rolfe, new Director of Athletics in Hanover. We hope that any visitors in town at that time will be able to join us.
