The Dartmouth golf team under Coach Tom Keane took up where they left off last year and, displaying steady, sound golf, outplayed seven opponents while losing once. The Indian golfers defeated William and Mary in the opener 5½-3½, but lost to the same team the following day by a 6-3 score. Dartmouth went on to win over Virginia Poly 6-3, Virginia Military 7-2, the Quantico Marines 24-12 (scored on a point basis), George Washington and Loyola by 6-3 scores, and Johns Hopkins 8-1.

Junior Fred Oman, a letterman, played in the number one spot for Dartmouth throughout the trip, with Don Purple, another letterman, ranked second and Captain Al Anderson playing third. Dick Drake, a reserve, was the number four man for Dartmouth, while behind these players Coach Tom Keane shifted his men around, using senior Don Kurth and sophomores Frank Barteaux and Pete Barnes. Pete Diemand, another sophomore, also showed up well on the trip.

The loss of two or three key men from last year's team has hurt to some extent, but overall team strength is expected to compensate and the outlook for the golf team is very promising at this writing.
