Green Jottings

The Dartmouth College Athletic Council awarded a total of 68 letters to members of the Big Green varsity spring teams. Fourteen letters were awarded in baseball, 19 in lacrosse, eight in tennis, 20 in track and seven in golf. They went to 19 seniors, 28 juniors and 21 sophomores.

Freshman captains elected for spring sports towards the end of the current season were Richard Schramm in baseball, Charles E. Stevens in lacrosse, Peter C. Boswell in tennis, and Robert L. Sterling in track.

Memorial Field will have a new look next fall. The Trustees of the College have authorized the erection of new stands on the east side of the football stadium. The new stands, which replace the old wooden ones built in 1939, will lower the stadium seating capacity slightly. Painting of new seat numbers and other improvements will ready the Dartmouth stadium for the four home games next fall.
