Among the new faculty appointments approved by the Dartmouth Board of Trustees at its April 22 meeting was that of DeOrmond "Tuss" McLaughry as Professor of Physical Education. The former head football coach's host of Dartmouth friends are happy to know that he will continue his active association with the College in this new position which was offered to him at the time his coaching contract was terminated in December.
Although the Professorship of Physical Education is a full-time assignment, it is expected that McLaughry will continue as secretary-treasurer of the American Football Coaches Association, which elected him permanently to that post at its annual winter meeting.
Of last year's varsity football coaching staff, Tuss McLaughry and Elmer Lampe, who was reappointed end coach, will still be at Dartmouth. Milt Piepul, backfield coach, has the same job at Brown; and John Dell Isola, line coach, has become director of athletics and head football coach at Medford (Mass.) High School.
