The Dartmouth Alumni Association of Rhode Island wishes to record its sorrow at the loss of one of its valued members, George Pulliam, who passed away this summer. We shall miss him, and express our sincere sympathy to his family.

The monthly meetings of the Rhode Island Association will be resumed shortly after our customary summer lapse. Our mid-summer activities were confined to a highly successful cocktail party on June 22 at the Narragansett Boat Club on the Seekonk River. Approximately 70 alumni and wives enjoyed good refreshments and excellent weather.

Our next important gathering will be at the Dartmouth Tent prior to the Dartmouth-Brown football game on October 13. All gamebound Dartmouth families are urged to be at the Tent, open from 12 noon to game time. Admission is 50 cents per person, with children under 12 free. There will be free beer and set-ups, and box lunches will be provided at a nominal cost.

The Tent will be located directly across the street from the football stadium on the baseball field. In addition, the Dartmouth-Brown varsity soccer game will be played at 10:30 a.m., only a few yards from the Tent, and alumni may wish to arrive early and watch this contest.

Last year over 400 alumni and families visited the Tent. We hope this turnout will be surpassed this year.
